Ryusoulger Episode 20: The Magnificent Artist

Well, I guess I got it all wrong last week which you as readers will see in this post. Onore Toei, are you trolling longtime viewers now? Anyway, I just want to think of this week's episode doth serve that "Hirohisa Soda moral of the week" scenario. Now, it's time to put on my act as a Middle Ages Englishman once more!

Creon looketh for a new host. This time, it is an artist named Shotaro. Creon useth some of his slime but the results are awkward. What cometh out instead of a monster is a sketch pad?

Meanwhile, the Ryusoulgers do get themselves into what you'd call, "We henshin heroes need to practice out-of-suit more often than not!" mode. I remembered it's not always played but we're lucky to see it here. I do like how Melt doth some scientific analysis.

I like how we also get a suit training scene. While it's common for the heroes to train their bodies out-of-suit but don't suit training scenes do something too? Melt remindeth Towa not to rely too much on his super speed. I just got reminded of an episode in the Flash TV series where Flash himself got stuck to the floor. One could also think of Quicksilver's weaknesses in any old school Marvel Comics. Get their speed weakened and they are done for!

Wizeru is quite pleased with the outcome of a sketchpad Menasaur. He believeth that he could use this power to destroy the Ryusoulgers. He even goeth as far as to create a giant replica of himself so spoilers -- he doesn't die in this episode!

Both Towa and Banba try to help a young boy named Kyohei find his brother. They discover that the sketchbook has some of Creon's disgusting slime. Before that, Towa accuseth Melt of being too stuck-up but look who's talking.

Meanwhile, Ryusoul Green is still cocky about his speed. Hmmm... I'm just reminded of Quicksilver getting too cocky about his speed in some of his appearances in old school Marvel cartoons! Shotaro is there but he getteth caught in a magic cage.

Asuna doth get several materials, she waltzeth herself home but only to find herself captured. I do get some Dragon Quest vibes with how she carrieth stuff. Remember Torneko in Dragon Quest IV? Well, she doth get captured too.

Meanwhile, Ui trieth to prepare some takoyaki herself. However, her father doth get chocked at her spicy takoyaki. Okay, stop making me hungry now!

The other Ryusoulgers (except Canaro and Towa) get captured and are treated as collectibles. Okay, is it me or do superhero shows tend to use the trope of collecting people too much?

Towa trieth to get information from Wizeru about the others. However, he relieth too much on his speed. Wizeru then retreateth after he can't capture Ryusoul Green.

Okay, I think the whole Canaro trying to find a bride gag is already getting annoying IMHO. I wish they'd cut the gag down a few episodes. One lesson here I realized is that I love to do these annoying running gags as evidenced by my Old Shames. Canaro then captured too by Wizeru.

Gaisorg appeareth again after he did in episode 13. So just who is Gaisorg anyway? Gaisorg giveth Ryusoul Green about not turning one's strength into a crutch and to be more flexible. This resulteth into something.

Meanwhile, the Ryusoulgers watch helplessly as Shotaro starteth to lose his life force. This really is a nightmarish scene if you ask me. Wizeru would later draw a replica of himself rather than enlarge himself. So, Toei is trolling audiences again? It just remindeth me of that Bioman episode preview that suggested Doctor Man was assassinated -- only for him to live in said episode!

Towa cometh up with a rather brilliant plan. So he turneth into Ryusoul Green, jumpeth into the board and alloweth himself to get captured. This is where things get tough. The villains can get overconfident which also explaineth why they tend to lose A LOT.

It turneth out that Towa drew keys on the giant sketchpad used. Keys were drawn which allowed them to escape. RPG vibes?

Okay, I do just want to question this scene a lot. I wonder how do Super Sentai teams or any show that fighteth off giant monsters even pay for city damages after each and every battle? The Ryusoulgers ended up destroying a project in construction. Oh boy, I really hate to think of the hefty bills to pay now! *Insert super hero logic* because you're gonna need it!

So, Wizeru is still alive but getteth upset that his latest masterpiece has been ruined down. You can imagine just how his narcissism getteth the best of him.

Meanwhile, it is takoyaki time. Melt though getteth himself choked with the spicy ball. I just laughed at this scene. Okay, I want to get some right now! Sorry Ryusoulgers, I'm gonna grab your takokayi! Mwahahahahahaha!!!!!

Just then there's some mythological build-ups. Towa asketh Banba about who Gaisorg is. Banba has a past with Gaisorg. What could it be? I just can't wait to find it out. However, I do still have my plan to temporarily halt all my Ryusoulger viewing from September to November 2019 to try and focus on other new school stuff.

Meanwhile, newer mythologies are about to be unraveled. Do you remember that mysterious masked man that appeared way back in the second episode? Dragon Quest still cometh into my mind while watching this show -- because it really looketh like Toei didn't intend this show to be about dinosaurs!
