Super Sentai Series I Think Are Over-Appreciated And Less Appreciated By Some Power Rangers Fans

Image
I'm thinking about possible Super Sentai series that may be getting over-appreciated or underappreciated by some Power Rangers fans. Super Sentai didn't get known to them until the dawn of the early digital age followed by English translations. Overappreciated Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger Should Zyuranger even get the top spot in being overappreciated? Granted, there were once baseless rumors that Mighty Morphin' was more popular in Japan than it. However, I do feel Zyuranger does tend to become that series that gets overly appreciated by the Power Rangers fans ever since translations. Before, it's just hard to appreciate a show with a language barrier, right? Some people are willing to read subtitles but just don't want to learn another language. I mean, it's the very source material of Mighty Morphin' and without it - the show couldn't exist! Shout! Factory DVD decided to release Zyuranger so I think it makes it to this list. Though I think Dairange...

Super Sentai New Year Episodes That Happened Before The Year Ended

Image
Granted, there's no Super Hero Time this Sunday. Old-school Super Sentai also had times that they didn't air a New Year's episode after Christmas week. I decided to do a fun, silly post on Super Sentai New Year specials that happened before January arrived. Megaranger's New Year special was more of a clip show than a regular episode. Kenta accidentally loses his digitizer and he must find it. It's a weird clip show episode. What's with Super Sentai and the occasional clip show? This was also written by Yasuko Kobayashi. Gingaman tries to commemorate the end of 1998 by remembering their adventures. For me, it's almost close to an encyclopedia. I also remembered how the anime series Yaiba: The Legendary Swordsman had an episode where they celebrated a party for Yaiba - recalling all his past adventures. This was written by Tetsuo Okita. Do you remember the Y2K scare? Well, it was the day after Christmas when this episode was aired. The GoGoFive s...

My Own Personal Rambling Review On 2010s Super Sentai

Image
Time does fly fast, doesn't it? I do feel the Sword of Time working its way again. The 2010s are coming to an end. I didn't write a post called the 2000s are coming to an end when I should've. Now, it's time to consider the track record of the 2010s. I'd consider this the decade that I was getting overly critical with Super Sentai - all the while I pursued other new school stuff. Now, it's time to do a review of the 2010s era of Super Sentai. I'll be inserting my personal opinions so just bear with me. The start of the 2010s era for me wasn't really impressive. Goseiger is what I'd call a show that would have been forever overshadowed by Shinkenger and Gokaiger. Shinkenger and Gokaiger are both fan favorites though I don't want to say either one is the "last decent Super Sentai series". This show just needs a little more appreciation for me. Megaforce is just so bad that this show just started to look like a masterpiece. Overall, I...

My Own Retro-Rambling On The 2000s Era Of Super Sentai

Image
Well, here's a post I'd call overdue. I remembered writing a series of posts regarding the end of the Heisei era and remembering the Showa era . I feel a bit obligated to end the year with this review and some confessions. I confess that I was also critical of Super Sentai after some time. I keep hearing of toned-down violence, less serious stories than it used to be but it can be good, right? It's time to look at all the series from 2000 to 2009. Timeranger would turn 20 years old by 2020. It started the 2000s with it through it's also what I'd call the last 20th century Super Sentai. The year 2001 would be the 21st century. Though with a decade - the 2000s started with Timeranger. One could consider the fact that just a few years after Seijuu Sentai Gingaman - we would be getting this show. Some hail it as Yasuko Kobayashi's masterpiece. Overappreciated? Underappreciated? I can't say. I hear it gets praise from the older fanbase but younger fans didn...

Sentai Series I've Watched From Start To End

Image
I haven't watched all Sentai series from start to end. But here are those Super Sentai series I've watched from start to end in chronological order and I admit, I was all the time pretending to be a know it all until I realized I needed to be just myself to be a true fan plus these are the only series I've watched from start to end, the rest is just reading here and viewing here and there: Chikyu Sentai Fiveman This was the first series I saw its ending, which I thought I got boggled to why MMPR kept stretching and Sentai has a definite end back then. For me, this series is a guilty pleasure. I know it's Soda's lower series but I still find myself enjoying this otherwise awkward series. However I'm willing to see it in Japanese with valid subs but so far, Fiveman's Tagalog dub was better. As for the finale, it was pretty rushed, I felt like WTF Vulgyre was only added into the finale arc and no hints in between to his identity, Chevalier was just as ...
