Kiramager 18: Falling Into Darkness
This week's episode features Riku Sanjo yet again. Personally, I'd say that Sanjo actually did improve greatly with Super Sentai IMHO. While I'm still no fan of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (so sorry if I'm still no fan of it) - I did enjoy a lot of his other works such as Kamen Rider W and Kamen Rider Drive. This week's episode with Sanjo actually gets a bit of improvisation of the darkness theme way back in Ressha Sentai ToQGer. So, I guess I need to recognize ToQGer a lot more for providing this series ideas it can improve on.
Carantula and Garza both talk of an ancient legend called Buris Liss. Okay, more Bruce Lee references? The guy's been dead for decades yet his fame lives on beyond the grave. There's a bomb stone that becomes the plot for this series.
What's interesting to know is that the Monstone inside Takamichi is corrupting him. He was in search for the Granterstones to save his adoptive sister Mabusheena. Garza goes from bad to worse when he tries to use Takamichi against the others. There's also the interesting backstory of the late queen of Crystalia where she was cursed. The curse also might have hit Mabusheena after all.
There's some interesting battles that occur as the rangers can't fight Kiramei Silver. They are in a dangerous situation then...
Apparently, the ghost of King Oradin plays an Obi-Wan Kenobi whenever the producers feel like it. Juuru later wakes up from the vision after all the others are safe.
Just then, more discussion after Juuru wakes up. Mabusheena talks about her adoptive brother rather happily. Mabusheena is willing to put her life at risk to save her brother.
Kiramei Red uses the first piece of the Granterstone (which three more are needed) to save Kiramei Silver. This turns the stone black but it later turns out that it can still be recharged later on. This also has a bit of foster sibling-bonding on here. The Kiramagers try to destroy Garza but he does have a bit of trick up his sleeve.
The Monstone inside Takamichi is expelled and ark energy is created. Meanwhile, Gigant Drill gets a whole knew combination to defeat the newly powered-up Monstone.
Meanwhile, the quest for the Granterstones has just begun. I wonder how it'll turn out eventually. Right now though, my vibes for Japan have significantly lowered and may consider taking another break.
However, next week's episode might actually be very funny. The minds of the machines and the Kiramagers are swapped? Hmmm I wonder how that would turn out?!
