Kiramager 31: Kiramei Machines Become Bandai Merchandise
Well, I'm reminded of how I actually NEVER had Megazords as a kid. Sure, I had some Bandai merchandise but I ended up having more books than toys. I still think about times I want to get some Bandai merchandise but I'm finding them costly and would rather save up AGAIN. Anyway, this episode speaks to the inner child.
Yup, it's revealed that you just can't call on King Oradin like a genie. The rest are in some kind of team-building activity so why are Juuru and Takamichi left behind? I have to give credit though that at least Juuru and Takamichi aren't becoming Dumb and Dumber in contrast to Ryusoulger's Koh and Canaro.
Yodonna now hatches her scheme to shrink Kirameizin and Gigant Driller as part of her new plan. Carantula wants to shrink Tokyo but Yodonna always aims for the Kiramagers first. What I like about Yodonna is that she really tries to aim first for the Kiramagers. Pinch In Out Dagamens can shrink or grow anything - a pun on zoom in and zoom out based on its mobile phone heads.
Just then a child named Tatsuki finds the shrunk Kiramagers. Yup, it's actual Bandai merchandise. I wodner why this kind of episode wasn't pulled in ToQGer? It seems that Naruhisa Arakawa (the writer of this episode) has the tendency to use Bandai merchandise when he feels like it. Granted, Arakawa was with Akibaranger so there!
The others return from the team-building seminar and figure out that the others have been shrunk. They must find them before it's too late.
Tatsuki now sees what he thinks are toys that come to life. Juuru figured out Tatsuki didn't have much of a smile back then with his mother. It turns out that Tatsuki is rather lonely. I think Tatsuki belongs to a single-parent home where his dad is either gone or his parents have been long-divorced.
Yodonna is never the type to easily give up. What she does is to really menace the others one way or another. While I was expecting her to be hilarious (at first) but she's no laughing matter. Maybe, one reason why I'm liking Kiramager better than ToQGer is because of her. For me, Zetto was an experiment of trying to make your atypical villain that didn't really work. Yodonna enters in and really executes stuff with much cruelty but may be held back by Japan's new censorship laws.
The bond between mother and child is somewhat estranged. Tatsuki's mother wants to get the toys because they were supposedly found on the streets. Turns out that they were pretty much alive. So, Tatsuki now admits his frustrations.
Meanwhile, Oradin reveals that when there are voices who call for his help - he appears. Yes, the Kiramei Arrow isn't even used at all! Oradin appears and helps in battle. Both Kiramei Yellow and Kiramei Blue pilot the Grateful Phoenix to defeat the Pinch In Out Dagames.
The mother and child are reconciled at the end. Both Kirameizin and Gigant Drill are restored back to normal size.
Next week... is it a date for Sayo? Pink rangers tend to be the target for suitors of any kind (good or bad) such as in Changeman, Maskman, Fiveman, Dairanger, Carranger, Megaranger, GoGoFive, Timeranger, Dekaranger, Magiranger and Boukenger. I might try to make a list of pink rangers with suitors soon assuming my mood is still there. =P
