Boonboomger's Nine Episode Introductory Arc Takes It Nice And Easy Despite The Lightspeed Delivery Theme

I may not actually regret SNAILSPEEDING with Boomboomger's lightspeed delivery services. With great power comes great responsibility. Toei usually chooses professional themes or heroes to do the job. However, Toei has times when it decides to make some u-turn by allowing "unremarkable civilians" to handle such power. After seeing the Boonboomgers using the power of lightspeed - I felt like, "What's with civilians handling the power of lightspeed? That's not a toy!" I was too used to how Tokosou Exceedraft used the powers of lightspeed as police officers. 

Boonboomger starts with a trio and then slowly introduces the next two members. Interestingly, the first five heroes haven't been established as a team. The familiarity isn't developed too soon. The show probably wants to add some degree of realism. Typically, superhero shows would still add degrees of realism. 

The International Space Agency (ISA) was introduced in episodes 4-5. Investigator Shirabe and Officer Jou are introduced. Okay, the Boonbomgers aren't all that unremarkable civilians. On the other hand, Jou's may still be learning the ropes and he's mentored by Shirabe. The ISA is a division of their version of the United Nations (UN) that investigates and monitors extraterrestrial activity. Okay, I do feel that aside from an upcoming Go-Onger episode - I wouldn't be surprised if Dekaranger gets a feature episode too. Jou gets permission to join the team.

The other character is Genba. Genba's been advertised as the orange ranger BUT he only morphs in episode 7. Genba assisted Taiya, Shashiro, and Mira early on. Genba also assists the four-man team. However, Genba's delayed morphing gave the others some time to shine before he did. Genba wasn't too interested and was satisfied working as Taiya's employee. Genba might be to show how important waste disposal is. With people like Genba - our society would be smooth. Does Genba secretly clean up the sites after each and every battle per week? Don't even get started with how messy Megazord battle aftermaths can be!

It's interesting to see two sides of the coin. There's the ISA and the Boonboomgers. The Boonboomgers are nearly dissolved by the ISA. However, they're given permission to fight later. It's nice to see how Taiya has his dreams. The most recent episode also shows Taiya wasn't originally aimed at saving the Earth. The conversation between Taiya and Shirabe about dreams was interesting. Shirabe starts to understand the Boonboomgers as people too.

Right now, I'd be snailspeeding again. Maybe, I'll outgrow Super Sentai. I wonder if there will be a hiatus when it reaches 50. Maybe, Super Sentai will need a break. However, the content has been somewhat kept fresh by not making too many throwbacks.
