I can't help but think about some ironies of Sentai rangers. These are some I can name: You have professional rangers but then, even they can get to become "babies" at times. My favorite example is Ryu Tendo's emotional stress when he discovers Rie has been brainwashed to become Maria and at one point, he chooses to live in a fantasy world. I don't think Hoji Tomasu's unexpected immaturity in an earlier episode when he goofed up in not being able to recognize an enemy illusion was that bad. Some jerks do have a heart of gold. My favorite example is Banban Akaza who is way more hyperactive and hard-headed than Guy Yuki was. Well maybe he became a "brat" due to his position but he learned to take responsibility afterward. Some can be very great in the battlefield yet they are scared of other less dangerous things. Take Takeru Shiba for example- he's fighting Gedoushu yet he's still scared of fake ghosts and Mako Shiraishi's cook...

If there was any comedy subplot I fairly found funny in Shinkenger it has to be Mako Shiraishi. While I can't say that any girl that she reminds me of is a bad cook (ex. Momoko), however it's a well known thing in Super Sentai she has poor cooking abilities that it always causes Takeru Shiba to freak out just at the knowledge of her cooking. However I do find Takeru Shiba to be overacting over that carrot in the mouth thing or panicking too much. She had the vassals help her though so everybody was able to tolerate it later, but Takeru Shiba may just find an excuse to put her down that time. Her cooking scenes can be as ridiculous as using a samurai to cut a squash (STUPID REALLY). However it's just funny that Kotoha Hanaori can withstand her cooking though. :-P Also, she can still improve with much practice.

Now it's time for the poll results. Do you think the Yuumaju will be more evil? 27/32 said yes, 5/32 said no. I'm on the yes crowd. What do you like about Saban's PR? Since I allowed multiple choice of answers, they are: 26/36 voted for likable characters. 17/36 voted for contributed new ideas to Sentai. 16/36 voted for Asians are the cool characters. 15/36 voted for humor is less corny and overacting is not very common. 12/36 voted for high returns for Toei. 11/36 voted for girls were usually hotter. Not surprisingly, for the poll "Which Saban hot girl caught your attention the most?", 20/35 voted for Kimberly Hart. I agree. Sigh I can't find a girl that looks like her to be mine.

Goseiger 18 has some really hard secrets about Gosei Knight. The character himself is kind of mysterious and he's more concerned about protecting the planet than the life on the planet. Hmmm... I wonder what he means. In this episode, he attacks a pollutant-releasing plant in hopes to save the Earth. He reminds me of in one way Captain Planet and in another, Poison Ivy from Batman comics with his motifs for this episode. It's also nice to see Bladerun survive and show his true self. I honestly feel like he's a fusion of Wolverine and other Marvel characters. First I thought he would take over Warstar but he turns out to be part of Yuumaju. The Yuumaju's latest plot using Zeibu of the mummy. I find it really somewhat scary seeing how the monster could use TV sets for its scheme. That's when the Goseigers must really go and free the TV station from Yuumaju's control. They do enter and it's filled with mummified slaves. Instead of getting scared, I fin...

So far I'm inspired by the entry at Henshin Grid entitled " Physics Laws in Power Rangers ", now here is weird science in the outrageous world of Super Sentai: Stand up cockpits are probably the most ridiculous thing ever IMO. How some of the bases ended up becoming a super robot. Time travel is something. Time travel has happened in some Sentai series like Maskman (in the quest to eliminate Takeru), Jetman (when they were blasted to the stone age) and it became the theme of Timeranger. Many inventions defy science in the show. Fortunately most of them won't come true. For example, gattai robots are already one. Another is how one can easily change from regular clothes to their power suits. Genetic engineering is an issue. In fact, some Sentai series have monsters created out from laboratories and they know who their superiors are. Funny really. Some of the enemies have established their bases on the South Pole. Now for the female villains I really liked. Hee hee. Boo hiss! Here are they with my my reasons why: Ahames- The queen of Amazo is far more bad-ass and sadistic than the rest of her comrades.  She really is a real pain in the neck to the Changemen considering how cruel she is plus her loyalty to her planet Amazo makes her a fierce opponent. Princess Igam- As a woman disguised as a man, she had some really cool moves. In fact, her plans are always better than Baraba's (who she may be attracted to). Also it's her "for honor" motif that gives her an interesting sidestory as well as that she is the twin sister of Ial, the woman that Takeru has a relationship with. Fuumin- She is extremely loyal and she is a true friend who always comes up with correcting the person without saying anything harsh to Igam. Dr. Mazenda- She's one really badass chick if you ask me.  Consider this- the fact that she was once Yuusuke's lover gives some hard flavor.  She r...

Here are my favorite Sentai villains. Hee hee. Boo! Hiss! Here's why I like them: Dr. Man- He seems to be based on a Zoids villain design-wise but I can't get to think who.  For one, Dr. Man is practically the first Super Sentai mad scientist with an amazing genius.  In fact, he was always ready for any conspiracy against him.  What makes him amazing is his robotics technology, his commanding presence and best moment had to be when he countered Mason's coup and reprogrammed the Big Three to serve him to the end.  His best plot ever was with his conflict with his son Shunichi and how he faces his pride and his son who loves him very much. Mason- Bioman's leader of the Big Three was extremely sadistic. Okay I admit I got as ambitious as Dr. Man as a child but Mason was my favorite villain from Gear. He was the one who came up with the most sadistic schemes, he teamed up with Psygorn most of the time (my favorite Juunoid) and he was infamous for using the...
