2011 was when a tsunami hit Japan some time in March. Who would've thought that in 2021 - 10 years after the same incident - something similar will happen to the Philippines? Odette struck so hard that it's left a huge wave of devastation. It's a weird coincidence or not that something tends to happen on major events? Now, I decided to watch the Gokaiger OVA movie which takes 10 years after that's before I might consider quitting Super Sentai for good. Zenkaiger is no longer interesting me in spite of the interesting new concepts. I think Donbrothers resuming the already burnt-out Toshiki Inoue may not be the best move either.  I must admit I have been skipping the 10 years after movies - except for Dekaranger . I skipped Go-Onger because well, it's really a mess after all IMHO after I've watched Caaaarrrrrannngger ! Now, I decided to check the movie with a new plot.   Just because I don't like Power Rangers doesn't mean I should praise every Super Sentai as "equal". I decided to take a look back at how I do feel stupid as to why I even pretended to like Ryusoulger . I would confess that I also checked Beast Morphers out only because I found Jacqueline Scislowski rather attractive. I confess I also did the same thing with Megaforce and it was totally the most horrid Power Rangers season ever - I don't regret not finishing it! Then I decided to give Hasbro a chance with how it'd deal with Power Rangers . I felt that Super Sentai started slipping down after Go-Busters and then it temporarily had good entries with Kyuranger and Lupinranger vs. Patranger .   I confess that I'm finding Zenkaiger not as appealing as last year's Kiramager or some of the past post- Zyuohger series. Kyuranger was a fun new spin and Lupinranger vs. Patranger was an interesting twist. Though, I felt really bad after finishing Ryusoulger . I decided to watch this new age-restricted spin-off which was worth two parts. Apparently, Yodonna got so popular probably because of Nashiko Momotsuki's performance. Heck, Canalo even tried to hit on Yodonna in the Kiramager vs. Ryusoulger movie. Now, I'd like to talk about this age-restricted film (minor spoilers ahead). It takes place some time after Kiramager ended and Yodonna is in the Yodon Afterlife - something nearly reminds me of how Dragon Ball Z has Yamma separating the righteous from the wicked in the afterlife. Okay, this isn't really surprising now that this blog is now hardly updated, right? As said, it's not a news blog but me giving reactions. Not to mention, Netflix has a lot of stuff worth checking out (which may be the reason why most of the the Power Rangers series were pulled off) which is more interesting than Super Sentai. Also, making episode reviews can be rather tiring than enjoyable (again). So, here's my rather sudden update after the episodes where Hakaizer was introduced up to last Sunday's wacky Halloween episode. It's the identity of Hakaizer which may or not be surprising. The first appearance of Hakaizer had him have a weapon that ONLY Zenkaiser could use. That weapon retrieved from Hakaizer was created by Isao. I thought Hakaizer was only created as a counter for the Zenkaigers. Nope, maybe, not surprisingly, Hakaizer is actually Professor Isao Goshikara, the father of the main protagonist Kaito!   I was thinking about how things are with Super Sentai's anniversary with Kikou Sentai Zenkaiger vs. the idiotic summer hiatus of Power Rangers Dino Fury . I confess that I did watch Power Rangers Beast Morphers to at least try and see how Hasbro would handle it. Apparently, interest in the Power Rangers franchise is still on and Toei's still getting paid royalties. Now, I decided to try and do a bit of PERSONAL analysis of the situation. It's because of the recent anniversary years such as the milestones of 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016, and now it's 2021.   A good reason why I'm really provoked to write this was because of how Beast Morphers had its crossover episode with Power Rangers Dino Charge to be doing nostalgia. Then again, there was also the nostalgic throwback with the utterly messy (at least, for me) crossover of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger and Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters when both Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger and Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger showed up.   I decided to do some irregular-paced watching of Zenkaiger . Finally, we've hit good 22 episodes and I'm going to share my thoughts. Warning: There will be some spoilers ahead and some mish-mash of positive-negative opinions. Again, take note that just because I dislike Power Rangers that I'm going to say that Super Sentai is perfect . So, what are my thoughts on the series up to this point? The heroes For a start, this was basically the creation of an unorthodox, not typical Super Sentai team that would resemble the long-plugged out (but somehow, never forgotten) Metal Hero series . If anything, I think Metal Hero finally met its cancellation because of the revival of the Kamen Rider series in the 2000s . Any old-schooler who watches new school shows might immediately have a connection with the Metal Hero franchise. In my case, I've seen almost all the Metal Hero series but I'm yet to really watch Blue SWAT , B-Fighter , B-Fighter Kabuto , Kabutack , and Robotack...

Super Sentai logic is always subjected to superhero logic, right? There's a lot of weird science going on. Most Super Sentai villains aren't really that smart either as  most of their plans are meant to be incredibly absurd . Just think that the villains in the James Bond franchise ended up getting the honor of having the trope called Bond Villain Stupidity. The Super Sentai villains (or most Toku villains and superhero villains) are usually carriers of such stupidity. Who can remember Cobra Commander in the G.I.Joe cartoon cook up really stupid plans or when Serpentor in the second season is even more stupid than his predecessor? Then we can notice also the trend that the low-tier henchmen or villain grunts in superhero shows can also be THAT STUPID too. Not to mention they also do get a lot of strange stuff that just don't make sense (and somehow cleverly written) just to keep Super Sentai going. I mean, aren't some stuff in Super Sentai supposed to NOT MAKE SENSE? N...
