Kiramager 20: Dangerous Pair
This week's episode is written by Ayumi Shino. I find this week to be somewhat inspired by Shinkenger's sticky episode but not really. This causes some hilarious hijinks for Juuru. So, I'm wondering is Naruhisa Arakawa on a break or what?
The beginning starts with supplementary lessons. Yes, Chinese characters are written there because Japanese kanji involves Chinese characters too. So how did they get into there? It's not explained but a girl way back in episode one shows up again. Well, Juuru does storm out but is forced to keep silent about his ranger identity.
It goes get laughable when Glue Jamen starts sticking things around. The Shinkenger episode had people getting stuck. Here, people are stuck to objects. This time, it's not two rangers stuck with each other but a ranger stuck to a civilian. This gets funny in some way.
Juuru hesitates to un-morph. Mizuki discovers all the famous people and then Juuru? Well, Takamachi does break it out loud. Juuru has NO CHOICE but to unmorph! Hmmm... this reminds me when Ako has a friend who discovers about the former's ranger secret. I mean, would you let anyone know you're a superhero and put them in DANGER? Well, no. Then it's time to go back to school.
Well, it's a predicament when the other rangers get stuck to objects. This actually causes only Kiramei Silver and Kiramei Yellow the only functioning ones aside from Kiramei Red.
This episode was inspired by Seijuu Sentai GingaMan Chapter 36 "The invincible Haruhiko" on November 8, 1998. 22 years ago, Hayate's/GingaGreen's hand was stuck with Haruhiko Aoyama because while repairing the roof of Aoyama House, the glue that Haruhiko had fell down on his and Hayate's hands. However, when Bombs of Battobas Majin Army (which is under the Space Pirates Balban), planned to terrorize the city with bombs (disguised as fire hydrants and such), Hayate and Haruhiko battled the Balban Monster and held him off while preventing the bombs from exploding until Hyuuga/Black Knight II arrived to stop the foe. And what makes Hayate and Haruhiko's hands removed the glue? The smelly, acidic chemical that comes from below the factory floor. And guess who wrote the episode at that time? Yasuko Kobayashi.
ReplyDelete22 years later, it's the same thing! So, what if the teacher or principal learned that Juuru Atsuta is one of the Kiramagers? Can they expel him just like what the Moroboshi University personnel had done to the MegaRangers in the last 3 episodes of the 1997 Super Sentai Series? CARAT will surely be pissed!
In today's COVID-19 Pandemic, to ensure the safety of the actors, actresses, staff and crew, they need to bring alcohol with them and had their bodies disinfected while entering the entertainment compounds (such as Toei and TV Asahi) and locations. They also wear face masks and, reluctantly, face shields while shooting the scenes. That is, to prevent from what was happened to Rio Komiya (the actor who played Juuru Atsuta/KiramaiRed) five months ago.
Off-topic: About real life Japanese Schools, it seems that not all the Japanese students are present at their universities, colleges and other educational facilities for fear of the Coronavirus. Some of those are interacting with their sensei (teachers) using laptop computers, smartphones and/or tablets for their e-learning at home or what was known during the MegaRanger era as "Educational Video Conferencing". So, that's the rough time for both students and teachers not just in Japan, but also all over the world when it comes to education being affected by COVID-19.
