Kiramager 13: Great Battle Underground

Last week's episode focused on the first arrival of Kiramei Silver. This week's episode really starts with well, the not surprising revelation that Takamichi is just adopted. However, there's something that might make you go bonkers.

The opening has a bit of a nightmare fuel from past Super Sentai. Yup, it's a killer flowers plot that would be very similar to what happened in Flashman, Maskman, Fiveman, and Zyuranger. The flowers here almost makes me want to sing the song "Little Shop of Horrors". Just where is Rick Moranis when you need him?!

The Kiramagers discuss about the past details. They also have trouble accepting Takamichi into their team due to a grudge held bu Mabushina.

No surprise, Takamichi is adopted. I wonder why didn't they decide to go for the human form and he's actually a Crystalian? It turns out that decades ago, the late King Oradin worked with Hakataminami's father. One day, Takamichi found a Monstone and was nearly killed. He was healed by King Oradin and was later adopted as a teenager. I just find it pretty weird actually.

Takamachi explains the rest of the story. He talks about how treasure-hunting for him means a lot. However, there's a lot of stuff we don't know yet.

Quite a bit of a funny coincidence or not? We get the names Minami and Kotaro. Wait, wut? Doesn't that throws back to the name Kotaro Minami (or seldom read as Minami Kotaro) back in 1987 when it's 2020? The whole series of venus fly traps that eat people is still scary even if the violence has been seriously toned down.

Meanwhile, Kiramei Silver takes away Kiramei Pink to go treasure hunting. Is the plot still relevant or what? It seems that there's a reason why Takamichi goes treasure hunting.

Kiramei Silver tends to act selfish but he does care about people. Kiramei Silver saves a girl who's about to be eaten by what I'd call an Audrey II.

Meanwhile, Juuru confronts Takamachi with the truth. Juuru figures out that Takamichi is just pretending to be a douche. This also  results in the launch of a new mecha that will save the day.

New Bandai merchandise presents the Super Heavy Machine Drill. We're yet to see its humanoid form. No surprise, a Jamen Beast called Haejigoku Shelga is causing all the trouble. The Jamen Beast is beaten too easily. I guess we're not yet ready for the bigger guns huh?

Here's a bit of confrontation between Takamichi and his adoptive uncle Garza. Hopefully, Kiramager will give him more development considering his position. I was thinking that Schwartz in ToQGer did have some interesting concepts but it wasn't used that well. Hopefully, Garza will be be done better than Schwartz.

Meanwhile, a bit of revelation that makes me wish the ToQGers were here to react with them. It turns out that Takamachi is Hakataminami's BIOLOGICAL brother and he's older. The whole treatment that Oradin gave Takamichi made him age way slower. The reference "He's a full pledged Showa guy!"makes me think why's the first Reiwa Super Sentai making that reference? Granted, the actor Pikotaro is an old school actor in a new school show. I guess that's it.

Next week would be some development for Kiramei Silver. I wonder how he will eventually fit into the team. However, my vibes for Super Sentai have lowered down AGAIN while I'm getting more excited for the next Kamen Rider Zero-One episode.
