Ryusoulger Episode 36: High Speed Bodyguard

Well, it's time for another Ryusoulger episode review. So, we've got the third episode with Ayumi Shino as the writer. Is it me or did they name the one-shot possible love interest as Saki? Last year, Go-Onger turned ten years old. Maybe, it's just a coincidence, okay?

There's a bit of a training scene with the suits. There were times I criticized Super Sentai scenes whenever the rangers trained out-of-suit than in-suit - but that was when I was still a child. Right now, I think any child would be more comfortable with this one than the out-of-suit training scenes. They decide to really understand their powers!

Now a bit of a returning running gag. Thankfully, it's not the focus. Canaro is still a hopeless romantic though I love how he has become less annoying. Do you even remember when he decided to forego his chance for marriage because of something greater? Well, the running gag nearly returned.

Saki hands over an ice cream cone to Towa. I wonder if she even meant to be a love interest here or what?

Sylph Menasaur shows up and reveals its fast speed. Like, WTF man. The speed of the monster leaves them at a disadvantage without Towa around.

I just love they have some misunderstanding. Towa was thought to be on a date. I really still can't blame Naohisa for saying his mind out. Naohisa still misses his wife a lot. I still think of Melt having top priorities.

Meanwhile, this corny gag is on. Wizeru wants to get his heart back but fails. I do have a feeling that the Druidon general Pricious isn't going to be an easy foe.

So, it turns out that Saki was wanting a bodyguard. She saw through Towa's training. There are bad men after her. He wasn't on a date after all! Saki does have the Ryusoul key of Towa which causes the ruckus. Okay, what's your deal, girl? I wonder is she playing too much Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy? Hehehehehehe!

It's revealed that Saki is a racer. Okay, is this a throwback to Go-Onger last year or what? I'm just reminded of this. Right now, I think watching the nonsense comedy of Go-Onger might be more entertaining than Ryusoulger as of late.

Wizeru shows up and starts to cause some ruckus. An incomplete Ryusoulger team isn't really going to stand out well!

Meanwhile, Towa shows some suitless action. I think villains do have a bad habit of underestimating their opponents huh? Saki is also the host of the Menasaur. Creon thinks that an unmorphed Towa is no threat. Okay, how stupid can the villains get? You saw several episodes of the heroes beating grunts out of suit - Ryusoulger's 18th episode highlighted that! Towa shows his fighting spirit and it's impressive. Saki takes accountability for the mess she's made in getting Towa's important item so he can be her bodyguard.

The mecha fight scene isn't so impressive now. However, it's a good thing that the "Dumb and Dumber" duo doesn't steal away the focus of Towa. Towa turns into Ryusoul Green and gets into the King KishiRyuOh to give it extra speed. Hmmmm... so it would need Asuna to get stronger then huh?

After the rather generic mecha fight scene - there's a bit of possible romance. This is what I'd like to bring up about superhero shows. There's always the tendency to give heroes and heroines a one-shot love interest that never shows up again. I doubt it Saki will return like the very girls that Canaro meets and foregoes.

Meanwhile, I do love how Towa mentions plans to defeat the Druidon. You can consider this to be another cliche in group superhero shows. Some of them end up parting ways to live their own lives. Others are still together even after the villain is defeated. I don't know if Ryusoulger will end up parting ways or not.

Next week, a new tag team is born. I do feel like RPGs are here again!
