Kiramager 25: A Mysterious Beauty Is...?

Image
This week has some eye candy with the arrival of Nashiko Momosuki. Yes, she's currently 25 years old and she's quite a looker. Not really, but you'll see her role. Hopefully, this will be a long-running role because she's about to wow us.  Juuru visits a Shinto shrine from his childhood. It was that place to learn some imagination. Just then something is about to happen... A mysterious beautiful woman shows up. Tametomo gets head over heels for her. FYI, the actress Nashiko also has gravure shots. I wonder did Tametomo see those gravure shots? Hmmm... past Super Sentai did have a record of casting R-rated actresses as human-looking villains in some seasons. Just think about how Igam from Maskman (Mina Asami), Jarmin from Turboranger (Kanako Kishi), Zonette from Carranger (Rika Nanase), Shibolena from Megaranger (Asami Jo), Shelinda from Gingaman (Kei Mituzani), and Kegaleisha from Go-Onger (Nao Oikawa) had their actresses act in adult films.  This one has a rather stupi

Can The Grandfather Paradox Plot Be Applied In Timeranger?

Image
It's time for a Throwback Thursday post. While I was actually looking at why time travel is just scientifically impossible - I also found details of the grandfather paradox. It seems to be what was used as a plot device in Mirai Sentai Timeranger . Yes, Timeranger could be operating on that grandfather paradox. If you haven't watched Timeranger then avert thine eyes. Again, if you're a spoiler addict (and I am THAT) then don't. This would tie in with the Asami Dysfunctionality  which in itself led to certain events in the 30th century. I was thinking about how the link between the 30th century and the 20th century were in Timeranger. A lot of events were permitted by Captain Ryuuya. Speaking of which - shouldn't Don Dolnero's escape be investigated and Captain Ryuuya be put into question as to why he allowed such events to happen? It's criminal neglect if you ask me. Also, consider that the finale itself posts the question, "If Tatsuya dies then would

Kiramager 24: Let's Start A Band

Image
Let's form a band? I do feel the title of forming a bad seems to be just secondary here. In fact, this episode imaginatively puts the title into the need to encourage a boy to get surgery. Yes, scared of surgery. Didn't we see that in Jetman (which had a girl though), Exceedraft, and Timeranger where a ranger has to encourage a person scared of surgery? Now, for the main event. Granted, I'm now even wondering if Tete Inoue is related to Toshiki Inoue.  The opening has the cliche of a child scared to face surgery. Yup, that's what the episode is all about. I was thinking about how Sayo is a health care professional. I even wonder why didn't GoGoFive and Lightspeed Rescue, of all seasons, really bother to have this kind of episode? Hmmm... an oversight from both franchises? Probably and I guess this episode fixed that oversight.  Meanwhile, a jukebox-themed monster known as Jukebox Jamen shows up. I really just laugh at the head. I'm also reminded of Jetman's

The Showa Era's Influence On Toei's Tokusatsu?

Image
Well, it's been some time since I decided to do some "nonsense rambles" here, right? I did remember writing about Toei's Toku in the Showa era . The Showa era was a long era starting from 1924 to 1989 under the rule of Emperor Hirohito. It was also the time when Imperial Japan sat and also the time when the empire finally sank after World War II. It was also the era of the birth of Modern Japan after seven years of the short-term American occupation. Japan eventually rose and kept rising for a long time introducing new technologies and concepts that Chinese, Taiwanese, and Korean would use a lot and improvise later on. So what's the big influence of Toei itself. Just something worth to note that I love a lot of Showa era Super Sentai while thinking the majority of the Showa era Kamen Rider seasons are not my type.  What important events happened during the Showa era? World War 2, and the long-running Cold War. The Cold War Era was a geopolitical war between the US

Kiramager 23: Mabusheena's Mother

Image
This week has the arrival of Mabusheena's mother but in the weirdest way possible. Yes, Mabusheena's mother is alive but in the form of a jewel. She's managed to transfer her consciousness to her crown somehow but she can't return in bodily form.  The Kiramagers learn that Mabusheena's mother Mayudeine is alive but in the form of a crown. We learn that the queen herself is highly sensitive based on a flashback by Takamichi. Just then the latest monster Kinko Jamen appears. He's turning people into coins. I wonder what in the world does he plan to do with them?  Queen Mabusheena witnesses the "play". Both Takamichi and Mabusheena want to hide the secret of the king's death as much as possible. They try to tell her it's just a Hami Troupe play where the yellow one is the hero. This is really one awkward moment when the Kiramagers try to introduce the Kiramagers as the Hami Troupe. It's really that weird if you ask me. Best way to pull the s

Kiramager 22: The Sea Witch And A New Mecha

Image
This is a continuation of last week's episode. Okay, I'm already wondering if I should actually just review arcs together or not. Last week featured the witch's curse. This time it would be an interesting time travel episode. However, the rules of time travel vary from Super Sentai to Super Sentai.    It all goes back to last week's episode when Boat Basura is wrecking everything. However, Boat Basura retreats for a reason. I wonder what's the rationale of villains suddenly retreating when they've got the upper hand? It just sounds rather weird! Next plan? Momentary time travel to the past to meet the witch Numajo. The original plan was to prevent the curse. However, it might actually cause the Kiramagers to be never born. The plan is to get the witch's cup so they can form an antidote to cure the Aqua Kirameistone.  20 minutes only? Well, I remembered Hikari Sentai Maskman 's 38th episode had a time hole that would close in an hour. 20 minutes? What do
