English Translation Of The Song "Golden Garden" Sang By Erica Murakami

Image
Several character songs don't get used in-show, presumably due to time constraints. Most of them are simply treated as supplementary songs. Some got played in-show (or in a special). However, there doesn't seem to be time to play all the bonus tracks. Some of them only get a TV-sized edition. I'm not a big fan of most Super Sentai opening songs these days. Yes, just like I don't really enjoy KDrama's musical track. Himeno Ran's character song is called "Golden Garden". Lyrics here are courtesy of Power Rangers Wiki : First, let's plant some flowers. For me Dye it in your favorite color, just as you wish. I don't need anything that is not appropriate. All of the ideal. I want to meet Dakishi. Even if there are things that hurt. With a strong will that does not give in. No matter what anyone says, I am who I am. It's not always good to be myself. I decided. Even if the future ahead is a difficult path. Believe in the self that you cannot se...

Sumino Ichikawa Sings A Detective Ending Theme In Gozyuger Episode 5

Image
Strange but true. I fell in love with older music when I heard some old school songs sung in new school entertainment. I remember hearing some old Chinese music while watching newer Chinese shows from either China or Taiwan. The same can be true with Japanese shows. I fell in love with the song that Maya sang in the bar of episode 5. I feel the whole song was filmed but was deleted due to time constraints. Yeah, talk about how deleted scenes are PLAIN INEVITABLE. The song came from the LONG-RUNNING series called G-Men 75. It's a long-running detective series in Japan that ran from May 24, 1975, to April 3, 1982 -- a total of 355 episodes! I'm certainly not too curious to watch it! The song "Omokage" was sung from episodes 1-55 and episodes 175-204. I don't like anything that runs too long. Why do you think I didn't bother watching Dragon Ball Super and I don't watch One Piece ? Maya Imamori plays the role of Sumino Ichikawa -- a DETECTIVE. The sad song a...

Translation Of The Song "Kuro No Kikoushi" (The Black Prince)

Image
I may have some issues with reunion movies these days . Despite its popularity in Japan, I was glad Samurai Sentai Shinkenger didn't have a 10th-anniversary reunion movie. I may be a fan of Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger but I wasn't too flattered at a 20 years after movie. I have mixed feelings about the news of a Ninja Sentai Kakuranger reunion movie. Some reunion movies may no longer be possible due to cast members who have died such as Tatsuya Nomi in Gosei Sentai Dairanger , the most recent demise of Yuka Motohashi from cancer, or having some sickness such as Kenji Shibata's brain tumor in Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive.  Kenichi Endo will resume his role as Prince Junior/Gaskadokuro -- something I think is built on nostalgia. Prince Junior was pretty entertaining. I'd dare say that while Prince Junior was crueler than Rito Revolto -- he also managed to be funnier at the same time. I still find the skeletal design to be funny. It wasn't explained why Kenichi left the show m...

Chevalier's Entrance Song In Fiveman Episode 28

Image
Fiveman may be one season that some counted as problematic due to it being the lowest point of Hirohisa Soda's career. Chevalier is somehow regarded as a "very goofy villain" though he became one of my favorite villains in Fiveman due to how cool and charismatic he is -- while his smug personality reminded me of another villain I like namely Kiros from Maskman. He returned after his supposed retirement as Vulgyre's captain and gave a really cool song. I always wondered what song that was and I fell for that song! I remembered how his song made people unaware of the danger that his arrival posed. It even caused Kasumi and Remi to swoon over his charisma to the point that the Fiveman team was divided. Zone's two females Dordora and Zaza both also had a crush on him because of his charisma. So what's the song's lyrics and translation? It's sung by Kai Band and not surprisingly -- it's covered by Anime/Toku theme singer Ichiro Mizuki! So was Mi...

Shinichi Ishihara Sang For The Tatsumis And Did A Cover Rendition For The Hoshikawas

Image
The singer Shinichi Ishihara first did his Super Sentai contribution with the Turbo Rugger theme song. He was then made the lead singer for Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive's opening theme. Here's the GoGoFive opening theme's English translation: Stir up all your guts Harder as it gets Never ever give it up We're gonna save you Grandcross, chaos Come what weather We shall overcome Wind is blowing for the V (five) Help a little life Whoever needs that livin' safe Fight for the new future For infinity Rescue! Soldiers, Faster & Faster Go through the fire, Run through the danger Rescue! Soldiers, Higher & Higher Brightening heart under the sun Shining all above you Save the earth, Save the life We are the KyuKyu Sentai Go Go Rescue Five! Pluck up your courage When it's on the edge Keep a hope stay survived We're gonna rescue Major danger Come what may, just We shall overtop With the power from the V (five) Save a little life Whatever needs our aid and care...

Did You Know That Hironobu Kageyama Once Sang A Gentleman Thief's Theme Song?

Image
I was just digging some nostalgia while I'm waiting for Kyuranger to end (and yup, I'm finding Spaceballs and Star Wars references), I can't help but dig on nostalgia for the upcoming Super Sentai that would be called as Kaito Sentai Lupinranger vs. Keisatsu Sentai Patoranger. One name stumbled across my mind and it's the name of HIRONOBU KAGEYAMA! Can you guess why? You may know Hinorobu Kageyama as the person who is a major contributor to singing Anime and Tokusatsu theme songs. Maybe, even casual fans of Super Sentai fans like myself already knew he sang much of the songs of Changeman, Maskman and Jetman. He also sang the Five Robo theme song (Fiveman), the Kakure Dai Shogun theme song (Kakuranger), the Red Puncher theme song (Ohranger), Victory Fight (Ohranger), Dynamic Soul (Gaoranger), Hurricanger's ending theme, Dino Guts (Abaranger) and he was involved in Kamen Rider EX-AID's Gashat themes. Whether you know this or not - he was actually involved ...

Megaranger's Bomb Dancing's English Translation

Image
Well it's summer in Japan and I wish Kyuranger had a different ending theme until the end of summer 2017. On the other hand, here's Megaranger's ending theme for non-Japanese speakers: (Asore!) Bomb-bomb dancin' (Mega!) Bomb-bomb dancin' (Mega!) Bomb-bomb dancin' (Mega!) Bomb-bomb dancin' Listen to the beat Megaranger Move your hips a little to this dance (Hoi!) My Favorite Super Sentai Villain Songs!

Image
Here's my favorite Super Sentai villain theme songs in no particular order and not all of them appeared within their shows but were part of the soundtrack.  I can be biased with this list, go ahead and feel free to tell me which songs you believe are better and which songs here are just trashy. Maskman's Ungler Song was played in Maskman episode 47 but it only was played in minus one.  The song itself has the creepy feeling of Zeba's tyranny and it somewhat fits a death march theme. The Urami No Grudge song in Turboranger also had that creepy feeling of the Boumas ready to attack humanity.  In due fairness, I still think Turboranger's soundtrack is better than Carranger's even if I do love both series.  Again, I still find myself liking Turboranger better than Carranger but at a very short distance. The Jigen Song in Jetman had an interesting rock and roll vibe to it, mentioning the names of the Jigens and it begins with an evil laugh, it has a vibe that m...

Maskman's "Love Soldier" English Translation

Image
It's been along time since I posted some English translation.  Now for the song: I promise you If it is for your sake I'll sacrifice my body and fight Even if I have to give my life to protect your dream I won't have any regrets Soldier of Love, MaskMan Soldier of Love, MaskMan I'm glad I met you Get fired up, our MaskMan Try believing That anyone Can live only on kindness Right now your dream is supporting a rainbow bridge leading to tomorrow That crosses over a flower garden in the sky Soldier of Love, MaskMan Soldier of Love, Maskman He has come to protect you Get fired up, our Maskman Even if I have to give my life to protect your dream I won't have any regrets Soldier of Love, MaskMan Soldier of Love, MaskMan I'm glad I met you Get fired up, our MaskMan For me this whole theme song FITS very well with the theme Maskman has in itself as the first love story Super Sentai.  Also it is fitting theme for Takeru as he seeks to r...

Bandora Song Translation

Image
Well for all those who think the Bandora song is cool, here's the translation.  RIP Soga Machiko.  Now for the English lyrics: Listen up, you foolish people I am the greatest witch of all BANDORA Do Do Ra Do Ra!  Do Do Do Do Ra Do Ra! Do Do Ra Ra Do Do Ra Ra Bandora! Do Do Ra Dora Do Do Dora Dora!! Do Do Ra Ra Do Do Ra Ra Bandora! Viewing so far away the Earth is like a mysterious blue sapphire Aside from my Dora Scope the planet's just a swarm of filthy trash As I trush up the precious Earth there's a gang of the stupid human race Now all of my minions will crush them in a landslide like mashed potatoes Totbat, Buckback, Griforther, Priripcan, now let's go! Do Do Ra Do Ra!  Do Do Do Do Ra Do Ra! Do Do Ra Ra Do Do Ra Ra Bandora! Do Do Ra Dora Do Do Dora Dora!! Do Do Ra Ra Do Do Ra Ra Bandora! What do I hate the most in this world? Children!  Children!  Anything but them! The goal is to be tough, make them cry, shut them...

My Favorite Super Sentai Villain Songs

Image
Here are my favorite Super Sentai villain songs. They are: Tube's theme song was really badass.  I really like how the Unglers danced to it in episode 47 to awaken the "god of war".  It had its pretty badass instrumentals and creepy theme to it. Vyram's theme song had the 80s mix mentioning some of the different Jigens.  I really love how creepy and how much of a dance music it is at the same time.  However I doubt it Radiguet will appreciate the song. Bandora has her song which while she declares herself the greatest witch on Earth, she also calls her followers to dance with her.  This is my favorite song by the late Soga Machiko. The Negative Syndicate's theme song is just funny for me.  It's one of my favorites.  I love how funny the tune can get as well.  Well I doubt it Ryoun and Yaiba would like this song. Now if you have your favorites, don't be afraid to comment.

Sentai Heroines Who Appeared as Singing Divas

Image
There were some Sentai heroines who appeared as divas.  Here they are: Ako Hayasaka/Blue Swallow- At the end of the Jetman series, she became a pop singer.   Lin/Hououranger- In episode 33, Lin became an idol singer and was supposedly fooled by Gorma until the Media Magician gained real feelings for her.  Was her character as a singer used also for Kimberly's character development? Chisato Jousaki/Mega Yellow- Aside from being a photographer, she's also a singer. Nanami Nono/Hurricane Blue- In her part-time, she was a singer.  At the end of the series, she became a famous pop star.  In Boukenger vs. Super Sentai, her career had reached greater heights. Mako Shiraishi/Shinken Pink- She appeared as a diva in the Shinkenger OVA but it was merely one of the many film scenes done by the monster.  I admit I like her voice too.

My Favorite Sentai Singers

Image
Here are my favorite Sentai singers. Enjoy. Takayuki Miyauchi- The legendary singer of Sentai IMO. Up to present, he still sings for Super Sentai but only insert themes. Hironobu Kageyama- He sang several of the Sentai opening and closing themes as well as the insert themes. I liked him for his rendition of "Love Soldier" of Jetman "Kokoro Wa Tamago" of Jetman, which both series focused on star-crossed love. Too bad though, he didn't sing the Shinkenger opening theme. Megumi Mori- Before becoming Megum Misaki for Liveman, she was already a talented singer. I definitely like her voice 10x better than Nao Nagasawa. She's a natural. Rin Tanakashi- I just loved her singing in the Shinkenger OVA. Kenta Satou- He sang the Turboranger opening and ending, as well as "Graduation of Youth" and later the Zyuranger theme song. Daisuke Shima- His voice made his songs pretty powerful especially the Liveman opening theme. Toshihide Wakamatsu-...
