I remembered some time ago where I wrote an entry bashing Power Rangers ' short feature episode "Dimensions in Danger" . However, there's yet another movie by Toei Ltd. that I'd say reminds me I've got a LONG way to learn about better storytelling - it's the first  Super Hero Taisen   movie . I gave some painful jabs on "Dimensions in Danger" but it doesn't mean I have completely forgotten why I still hate the first  Super Hero Taisen  movie like there's no tomorrow. The whole movie was so full of annoying sob stories and a bigger mess. I can understand if I can write really bad stories because I'm no story writer. However, Toei has producers and writers to guide it so why did it become the mess it was? At least, the didn't hire me to write the script or they'd go bankrupt with the special effects! Super Sentai may not be perfect, it has its flaws, it had its reduction in ratings from time to time then it has recovery periods, there are times when there's a single Super Sentai series that wouldn't immediately kick off and would require its staunchest fans to defend it. However, Power Rangers has been stuck in the Krusty Krab since 2011 after it got out of Hanna Montana land around 2010. It's best to even say that Power Rangers jumped off from the frying pan and into the fire! Now, I'd like to compare the four-part mini-series to that rather rushed Dimensions in Danger! Let's start with the main characters, shall we? I know I've had issues with Ninninger's Takaharu but I have to admit -- he's GREATLY improved in here thanks to Naruhisa Arakawa! All explosions courtesy of Koichi Sakamoto and Michael Bay? This is the final week of this Super Robot Wars/Super Hero Taisen type mini-series. Personally, I think this four-part mini-series totally owns the overly rushed Dimensions in Danger during the 25th anniversary of Power Rangers. Giving it four parts actually help spread development and pacing rather than just something as rushed as Forever Red. Now let's move on... The last episode had Captain Marvelous allow Gaisorg to possess him. Now I wonder where have I seen this kind of move before aside from Gaoranger with Shirogane's daring sacrifice? Fortunately, Marvelous has had more strong will which makes him way more badass than Tommy "That Overrated Prick" Oliver in more than one level. He manages to rescue both Luka and Takaharu (who's fortunately improved overtime). I like the chemistry between Luka and Marvelous here though they sadly -- aren't officially a couple. We do have the worst fears confirmed and Toei has confirmed it -- the revival of Dai Satan from Zyuranger ! So this is going to be the second to the last week of the mini-series! Now moving on to the main plot before it inevitably ends!  Stinger was last seen infiltrating Rita's laboratory on Planet Nemesis. Doggie Kruger appears on undercover. Is it me or is Dekaranger enduring in popularity even after 2004? It's been 15 years since Dekaranger ended and I wonder if Doggie has been filing for his retirement soon enough? It looks like he's preparing to retire with a bang -- which is by doing one last huge task before he inevitably turns in his retirement! Now I'm wondering how is Kagura an ADULT in here. How much time has passed through since ToQGer ended before she got here. Then again we need to screw logic. It never passed my mind until it's revealed later that Kagura wants to open a restaurant with food to make families happy. On the other hand, thin...

Just who in the world or who in the f*** (pardon the language) is Gaisorg who first appeared last week ? Okay, I'm already thinking that the Dragon Quest battle theme needs to be played here with this guy. Gaisorg appears and he's harassing everyone. He's seeking for the strongest Super Sentai warriors to feed his bloodlust.  I have to admit that it seems Koichi Sakamoto's fondness of explosions makes you wonder if he and Michael Bay are secretly working together. Gaisorg delivers a destructive blow which Akaninger blocks. Is Captain Marvelous always meant to be that jerk with a heart of gold type character who'd rather handle his problems on his own? Seems like it! I like how Stinger arrives and tries to talk sense into Captain Marvelous. So as expected, Rita does have some diabolical plan. She's mad at Gaisorg for interrupting but turns out that he had a ticket to the competition all along. My theory is that Rita's probably a forgetful villain ...
