The Tale Of Three Eagle Swordsmen!

Image
While watching Zyuohger, it's time to review on the eagle swordsmen. So here's the list aside from Yamato Kazakiri. Let's get started shall we? Takayuki Hiba/Vul Eagle II The tale of two eagles made Sun Vulcan feel it was two shows. Ryuusuke Oowashi left the set and the much better Takayuki Hiba took over. What contribution did Takayuki give to to Super Sentai? It's all about them red rangers who fought valiantly with swords . I felt like Sun Vulcan's first half was pretty boring and Ryuusuke wasn't all that interesting. I preferred Takayuki with his cool use of his katana against the Black Magma. Not even one of my favorites Takeru Shiba as a red ranger got as cool as he did. A lot of cool sword moves were introduced especially the Hiba Turning Slash. It was the start of a revolution for the sword arena. Plus, we had legendary stuntman Kazuo Niibori from Goggle V up to Jetman. He was an expert swordsman and red ranger stunt double. A lot of stunts wer...

Pre-Zyuranger Super Sentai Character Concepts I Wish Were Copied Into Power Rangers

Image
As part of the tribute that Zyuohger is the 40th Super Sentai series (though each decade of Super Sentai gets some major changes), I thought these characters or at least their designs or concepts could've been used into later seasons of Power Rangers. Maybe they could have tried to create a suit for Emperor Grumm based on Fuehrer Hell Saturn instead of Vulgar from the Dekaranger movie. Both were controlled by the "Magnificence" as the literal brain behind their organizations. Of course, keep Omni as it is due to being the improved version of the Black Sun God in Sun Vulcan. I wish Mora's grown-up form could have used a modified version of Amazon Killer for Power Rangers SPD.

The Tale Of Two Vul Eagles: Sun Vulcan's Two Red Rangers

Image
While watching Sun Vulcan and when I first discovered its existence, I remembered that the show actually had a turnover of responsibility as the red ranger. From episodes 1-23, we had Ryuusuke Oowashi. By episode 23, we had the appearance of Takayuki Hiba as the replacement red ranger at the end. From episodes 24 up to the last we had a totally different red ranger. During my viewing of Sun Vulcan, I thought Ryuusuke wasn't really all that standing out as a red ranger. The first 23 episodes weren't really anything special and I thought that he's pretty "wooden". I find it weird that I'd think he was wooden considering that I don't find Kenichi Akama "wooden" or that I did enjoy Go-Busters. Maybe, I just am playing my biases here with the first Vul Eagle. So why did he leave? It was said that it's because actor Ryuusuke Kawasaki was a singer. He left the set on purpose to focus on his singing career.

Remembering Sentai's Replacement Rangers

Image
In the earlier Super Sentai series, there were replacement rangers and their predecessors. Here they are: In Goranger, we had two Ki Rangers. Daita Oowa was the first and Daigorou Kumano was the second. Daigorou Kumano served as a temporary Ki Ranger because the actor Baku Hatakayema (who committed suicide on July 13, 1978) was acting in a play so they got a temporary replacement that would be killed off as soon as Baku Hatakeyama returned. Battle Fever J had two Battle Cossacks. They were Kensaku Shiraishi and Jin Makoto. From what I heard, the actor Yukio Itou got married so his character Kensaku Shiraishi got killed off from the script. Jin Makoto is introduced as a badass cowboy replacement. There were two Miss Americas in Battle Fever J. Unlike Kensaku Shiraishi, the first one named Diane Martin (strangely her actress is also named Diane Martin a half-Japanese, half-American actress), she wasn't killed off. Instead she was mortally wounded to the point she couldn...

There were some ranger groups that just didn't have the individual ranger signature weapons. They are: Denshi Sentai Denjiman Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan Chodenshi Bioman Dengeki Sentai Changeman Chojin Sentai Jetman
