Sean Akizuki's Super Sentai Blog

After watching the available subs of Changeman and Flashman has from Grown Ups In Spandex as well as remembering how the outer space set-ups got better from the 80s to present, I'm thinking that it's probably time to send Super Sentai into space once more due to modernization. Changeman and Flashman had space themes attached to them but the special effects were not so good given the time period they were in. I enjoy the action but I thought that these concepts need to be revived some time in the future. Megaranger had done it better and Kamen Rider Fourze may have been a green light to producers that it may be time to create space themed Super Sentai.

So ThatChick has written this post about Sentai themes she thinks would be awesome and so I'll respond to it with my own list of Sentai themes that I wanted but were not in the list.  I wanted to write this post and I'll respond to that one with this post.  I'm even thinking that the latest Sentai news just sucks, again it's a pre-conceived bias because I'm probably almost 30 or what... or is the story just that boring?!  Still can't tell but here's my response to That Chick's entry of Sentai themes I want to see: My ideas that weren't in ThatChick's list: After watching Akibaranger, why can't we create an official team of five Otakus?  Now considering this one could be a real comedy Super Sentai... it will require a good writer like Naruhisa Arakawa to time the comedy.  So my concept for this one involves a villain based on myself called Dr. Sean who is a mad genius who is determined to take over the world by corrupting the otaku cultu...

Well it's been some time since I haven't touched that fic and I assume the author himself must be very busy with real life scores.  In fact, I won't even get angry if he quits it since livelihood is very important.  But here's my thoughts on the two series: Takeru and Takeru- Team 1 has Takeru/Shinken Red and Team 2 has Takeru/Red Mask getting separated from their time periods and landing somewhere.  So we have two "Another Time, Another Takeru." chapters though I really and personally like the second one better.  So Takeru Shiba meets Momoko in Team One, loved the joke of "plastic surgery".  It manages to show the differences between them. Mako and Momoko reuniting with the red rangers after they were separated from them.  In Team 1, Mako joins in as a member of the team and in Team 2, Momoko joins in.  I wish he can update Team 2 soon because well, Momoko's in and she needs some development soon. I'd like to talk about my favorite Super Sentai fan fiction by other authors.  I specifically can't rank them but here's what I think of them: "Super Sentai vs. Super Sentai" by Chris X- This is the making of what he'd call "not your usual Sentai".  Okay I got to admit that it may be slow in getting a new chapter but don't blame him, he has his life to live to earn his living as he juggles between work and hobby.  The story of Takeru Shiba being warped back into the past and teams up with Gai Yuki, Dai, Sayaka, Remi, Miki and Youhei against Radiguet's team of villains.  I personally find this story to be what I'd call "you meeting your childhood heroes" type of Sentai fan fiction.  Mako has finally appeared to join the team too.
