A Toku Themed Bar? Masaru Shishido Opened One!

Image
While I was reading one of my currently number one J-Entertainment and Tokusatsu blog "Orends Range" I ran into this interesting information: former actor Masaru Shishido opened a Tokusatsu themed bar!!!!  Wow!  Looks like he's not the only red ranger to open a restaurant as Kazunori Inaba is currently running a restaurant. So how do I think of it?  Here's my thoughts on the information Ukiya Seed is sharing to all of us Toku fans...and I caught it while reading his blog whenever I can: I guess he hasn't forgotten about Tokusatsu after all... like even if they proceeded to soap operas and action series, Toku is after all what launched them.  And here's another... And here's the ambience... and according to Ukiya Seed the following actors have been there: Touta Tarumi, Keichi Wada, Kenta Satou, Kei Sindachiya, Yuu Tokita and Daisuke Tsuchiya have been there.  So who wants to go?  So I guess this is a place for adult toku fans who wanna feel young bu...

Sentai Spin-offs I Might Want to Try Watching

Image
Here are a list of what I'd call "Sentai spin-offs" that I would like to watch: Cho Ninja Tai Inazuma- This Sentai alumni filled series may be more of a Tokusatsu for some though I prefer to label it as a J-Drama... but it does have Toku elements in it.  I don't know what my other fellow Sentai reviewers have to say about this.  I hope people can post their opinion on this. Akibaranger- The title speaks of itself as an "unofficial Sentai" and yes it is.  Written by Naruhisa Arakawa, I expect this to be funnier than my own brand of somewhat sadistic humor.  Why it's an "adult Sentai" I'll need to watch and examine first! Sportranger- Seeing Thais pay tribute to Toku with their own series rather than adaptation would be nice to know... but sadly only 16 episodes as of this time... or maybe not.

I got this picture from Muza-Chan's Gate to Japan. Strangely enough, we have Goseiger mixed with some older Kamen Riders.

The Goranger Train in Japan!

Here's a picture I got from http://www.allpics4u.com/artwork/decorated-trains-in-japan.html and I find this pretty cool if you ask me. To any Toku blogger, feel free to use this image if you want. :-P

Sentai Kurismas Cakes... Hee Hee!

Image
Here are some interesting and cute Kurismas cakes or Christmas cakes from Japan. Any American would call these the Power Rangers cakes if they didn't know the term "Super Sentai" and kept calling it "Japanese Power Rangers": The pictures taken from: http://henshingrid.blogspot.com/2010/12/suppaa-sentai-wa-krissmas-caykee.html . An Abaranger cake. Too bad though, Zyuranger had none. Anyway, I think Jason David Frank would be pleased to get one of these if he went on a holiday in Japan. The Special Police Dekaranger cake. If you ask me though, Banban Akaza and Marie Gold would have this together. If you're a sibling of three boys and two girls, this cake would be the best. Ma-ma-magiranger! Hmmm Fiveman and Gogo V can go get one or make their own. Ha ha. We have the Boukenger cake. Surely we can have this for adventurers. The Gekiranger cake. Well I suppose this would be popular among Chinese fans. Being Chinese in ethnicity myself, I agr...

Okay I did NOT go to the Bandai Musuem but I hope I can go there soon to at least make me feel young for a little while. Hee hee. A collection of plastic Sentai accessories. I wonder if some of them were used for the show. The toys' section- I would hate to take a child here and me lose my temper! Well, too bad I've outgrown childhood! The Sentai hall of fame. A loadful of mecha... wow! If they were all real, Japan would be done for! A PR fan would say, "Zord overload!" A display of the earlier main robots. PR fans would be calling them Megazords. A collection of Sentai jackets (wish I had the Hurricanger jacket... hee hee). Note there are Power Rangers Wild Force toys so let's stop the PR-Sentai fanboy war! Sun Vulcan and Bioman toys. Maskman toys and above it... Changema...
