Super Sentai may be on hiatus, but I felt like still giving it the honors every now and then. This photo can be so sad, just thinking of how Yuka Motohashi (who played as Natsumi Shinohara in Gekisou Sentai Carranger ) left us so soon due to cancer. Carranger's 30th anniversary happened this year, and that show could've been the anniversary. Instead, there was the contender because Choriki Sentai Ohranger was actually the 20th anniversary of Himitsu Sentai Goranger . The references were hard to dismiss like the military trend with Goranger , Dengeki Sentai Changeman , and Ohranger . It was also on 1995 when Goranger became more recognized as the first true Super Sentai series! Apparently, there was some kind of identity crisis. Should a Super Sentai series celebrate its anniversary by year or by entry number ? Do the mathematics.  Ohranger was the 20th birthday of Goranger . Carranger was the 20th Super Sentai entry. It feels kinda sad, really, to think that it's 2026 and it could've been the 50th entry for Super Sentai . Instead, we have Gavan Infinity ,  which may ultimately replace Super Sentai as the franchise had ran for too long. Super Sentai had its FIVE-YEAR CEREMONIAL FINALE , which started in 2021 with Kikou Sentai Zenkaiger and finally wrapped up with No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger .  I had a feeling that there's an "anniversary curse" That didn't happen with Hyajakuu Sentai Gaoranger (which felt more like a REBOOT ) for the 25th season. Neither did it happen with 30th season is Gougou Sentai Boukenger . Gaoranger had the Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai non-canon film but the main series was still self-contained. Boukenger vs. Super Sentai was obviously another what-if movie. The Super Sentai Encyclopedia in Boukenger was never meant to be part of the show canon. Boukenger carried over designs that mimicked past Zords in Super Sentai with various Monsters-of-the-Week (MOTWs) ...

Super Sentai is practically Toei's LONGEST-running show, ending its broadcast yesterday. Yes, the No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger finale happened. It happened after  Super Sentai had a series of "reboots" , not relying on Nostalgia Goggles ( which sadly happened with Power Rangers more often than not ), and every step of the way was to keep the series fresher than usual. Of course, there would be a LIMIT to how long creative thinking goes. Innovation keeps a product living longer. It made me think of how Super Sentai managed to go on from the 2000s and the 2010s, but FAILED to complete the cycle in the 2020s as we're having Gavan Infinity instead. I remember asking myself, "How long CAN Super Sentai last in the 2010s? Perhaps until 40?" It was because we've had significant milestones. I felt that its 30th anniversary Gougou Sentai Boukenger was more of an Easter Egg hunt and acknowledgement. That would be five years after Hyajakku Sentai Gaoranger . There was no...

It's no secret that I've lost my fervor for No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger despite its innovative thinking. I was looking forward to what it could do -- such as how the Tega Sword concept, the Battle Royale theme, etc. could work out in Super Sentai . However, late last month, it was the news that Super Sentai would any any time soon . Other reports say Super Sentai might be rebranded as Universe Heroes or Universe Heroes would be a totally different franchise. In my case, I'm actually OPEN to see what Universe Heroes could do after Gozyuger ends. Now, I'd like to address one problem -- THE GREED!   Let's do a bit of a history lesson. I heard about the shocking incident a few days ago. However, I had NO ENERGY to write about it. It totally caught me OFF GUARD at that really happened! Y es, it's official that Maya Imamori was actually FIRED after her underage drinking incident . That means NO new No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger episode to be aired UNTIL. FURTHER. NOTICE. Imamori’s talent agency also released a statement on its official site: “It has been confirmed that our talent, Maya Imamori, engaged in underage drinking despite being under 20 years old. As this constitutes a serious breach of contract, we have decided to terminate her management contract as of today after careful deliberation.” The agency offered its apologies to fans and those concerned and pledged to strengthen compliance education and management systems to prevent similar incidents in the future. Do I really care too much about polls? I've also been a fan of lesser-known series such as Kamen Rider BLACK RX , B-Fighter Kabuto , and Kamen Rider Kiva . I didn't want to react to this initially. However, thinking of 50 years since Himitsu Sentai Goranger (and next year will be the 50th entry) -- I'd write this down for fun. Right now, I'm somewhat skeptical about Boonboomger . I'll wait until the finale before I give my overall thoughts -- IF EVER! The press conference happened yesterday and failed to give an update immediately. Once again, this blog is nothing more than a hobby. As I look into the cast -- it's got the expected super young cast! Yes, I'm feeling old for the nth time ! Entering a new phase of life is like blowing a cake with a stick of dynamite on top! The cast of No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger (yes, THAT is the title) has its main cast born in the 2000s. It's been some time since different eras. Super Sentai has had some "reboots"  with a "finale series" or that the Heisei era ended with Super Sentai Strongest Battle . The cast is getting young and I'm getting old! Once again, Super Sentai is a kiddie show and it may not go on hiatus. It's amazing how Super Sentai might also be another reason why the Metal Hero franchise and the Super Robot franchis...

  Granted, next year would be the 30th birthday of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and Gosei Sentai Dairanger - I decided to write this post during Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger's 30th year. There's celebrating a franchise's anniversary between its year (birthday) or by its entry number. Power Rangers celebrated by season number. However, 2013 and 2023 (which is next year) are celebrated by time passed since 1993. Power Rangers Ninja Storm wasn't the anniversary. Yet, it seems that after Nickelodeon took over (and that split into two seasons is just stupid) - the whole celebration focused on the age of Mighty Morphin' since it came into existence.
