Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger had a high budget. It seems that the lack of monsters of the week in the second half was most likely cost-cutting, Toei-style. You know how Toei and Saban have been working together for some time. If I'm not wrong, Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog did have that budget cut after a huge budget was allocated. Maybe, the same happened to Kamen Rider Saber where most fights were very like action-themed soap operas. This finale does a lot of crazy stuff and I'm thrown back into the 1990s.  The monarchs (and Racules) finally prepare to destroy Dugdead. For Racules, it means his redemption and the end of the curse of the Husty bloodline. Racules is good as out of the throne but he still participates one more time. The citizens' resolve to finally put Dugdead away for good is on! Figuring out a substitute for Jeramie's treasure is easier said than done. Hmmmm I guess Zord fuel has been more efficient, right? There's a difference between giving updates and reacting to updates. Fan sites like JEFusion (which I stopped writing for so I can focus on personal stuff) and Orends Range (where I got this update from) focus on updates. In my case, I prefer to react to updates. Sure, this blog may soon come to an end like a lot of fansites. This time, I'm not surprised to learn that Bakuage Sentai Boonboomer is going back to modern Japan. I think it's because part of Super Sentai's charm is the absurdity of Tokyo being the Center of the Universe . The budget of King-Ohger felt like a huge anniversary. I can't imagine how much money Toei had spent last December 2023 to wrap things up? Heck, the show's way too flashy from the start. I even felt that the post-Gokaiger anniversaries such as Doubotsu Sentai Zyuohger and Kikou Sentai Zenkaiger . Yeah, those two series were written by Junko Komura . This episode gets rather tense and rather crowded. It's almost like Avengers Assemble or Mortal Kombat Armageddon .  Everything continues from the previous episode where Gira sees Dugdead seemingly winning. It's a dark spot. The monarchs try to get everyone to evacuate only to see the the whole plan fail. Mass destruction? Check. Really dark atmosphere? Check! A failed evacuation of refugees just adds to the dark atmosphere. Call me crazy but I'm actually enjoying this. It's been some time since we've got civilians getting into this predicament AND then pulling something bigger. I guess filming such scenes costs

King-Ohger is finally coming to an end, right? This week's episode has that "Oh! It's getting dark!" type setting. Dugdead's ready to destroy all life on Chikyu. Evacuating people has been done during the last episode . This is seriously one apocalyptic episode. Sure, it's not as dark and depressing as Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive or Mirai Sentai Timeranger was allowed to do. Still, one can't deny this finale gives viewers tense feelings. The beginning is obviously meant to be tense. I wanted to know exactly what the cast felt filming this. I could imagine countless amount of retakes. I'm biased with anything past Timeranger . I do appreciate the CGI that gives the beginning a tense feeling. Then we are taken to what happened before the incident.  Yanma explains the latest attempt to merge all the Shugods into one power.
