Trick Or Treat: Revisiting Toshiki Inoue's Nightmare Fuel In Older Super Sentai

Image
Ah yes, all before Toshiki Inoue made a grand return in Avatar Sentai Donbrothers . I caught up and noticed that the episodes are more on the lighter and softer side. Back then, he was the type to write darker and edgier episodes. The same can be said for most of his Kamen Rider episodes except for majority of Kamen Rider Kiva . I decided to revisit Inoue's contributions to Super Sentai before he got overused in Kamen Rider . Heck, I even felt that he wasn't even given enough Super Sentai to do. I still feel assigning him to become Kamen Rider Hibiki's head writer for the second half wasn't such a good move. Meanwhile, I thought about Inoue's contributions and how he contributed to the nightmare fuel. Inoue did get some minor writing roles during Choshinsei Flashman , Hikari Sentai Maskman , Chojuu Sentai Liveman ,  Kosoku Sentai Turboranger , and  Chikyu Sentai Fiveman before becoming the head writer of Chojin Sentai Jetman . Yes, Jetman , a season full of night

Sentai Heroes/Heroines Deaths

Image
I think it's time to document the tragic deaths of Super Sentai heroes/heroines as they were. I decided to update this post after some time it was written more than 10 years ago. As heroes as they are - they are NOT invincible because they are flawed humans.  Here are some of the deaths that really took place and brought a tear to the eyes of fans.... Daigorou Kumano/Ki Ranger II He was a temporary member. He was killed when Can Opener Mask's blade thrust into his stomach and killed him. The actor was just there temporarily since the original acted in a play. Sadly, the original Kiranger, Baku Hatakeyama ENDED his life in real life. So sad Hatakeyama was only 34 years old. Meanwhile, Jiro Daruma still lives for now.  Kensaku Shiraishi/Battle Cossack I He was severely shot by Egos agents out of his suit (here there is no henshin sequence, only wear the suit and boom) while trying to save his younger sister. His actor left because he got married and wanted to enjoy some time

Super Sentai Villains I Believe Stole The Show (To A Certain Extent)

Image
The Super Sentai franchise really had a fair share of memorable heroes. Meanwhile, there are just some villains that we either love to hate or just boosted the show's ratings. I got the idea from CBR.com's article on Power Rangers villains that stole the show . Here are some villains I believe stole the show from heroes AND the default villains. These may also include my personal opinion so I could be wrong to a certain extent. Here they are and some spoilers ahead...  Black Cross Fuehrer Like Lord Zedd in Mighty Morphin' - it seems the Black Cross Fuehrer is one of the most beloved villains ever. Sure, not everyone will be watching Goranger and it may be underappreciated due to how old it is or how unusually long it was (84 episodes). Heck, I even dropped Goranger while watching some of the more important episodes including the finale. Heck, this guy would be the Emperor of All Evil in many ways. If Super Sentai had a non-canon game similar to Power Rangers Super Legends -

Why I Feel Super Sentai's Lack Of Throwbacks Is Actually A Good Thing

Image
I could remember a couple of exchanges I had with Sentai Bandicoot aka Fantasy Leader in this blog. I couldn't forget these words which he wrote on a post I deleted.  Toei said it themselves, that every sentai season are their own continuity, and that the team ups are considered non-canon. However, after reading this post, now I'm starting to question, "Does Toei actually know this themselves?" Ugh. My head hurts. I didn't know this was such a big matter of debate among fans. This made me write about how I came to accept there was NO Super Sentai timeline . It's pretty much like how the now-defunct Super Robot Anime series aren't connected except if they were connected like how Mazinger Z gets connected to Great Mazinger and UFO Grendizer . Try to connect Combattler V with Voltes V , Golion , and Dairugger XV and you'll see how your head will hurt. Interestingly, World Events Productions didn't adapt Combattler V and Voltes V into the Voltron fra
