Bioman Episode 5 Warned Us About The Welfare State

Sometimes, fiction translates into reality, right? While some things in fiction will never be real but there's always some weird stuff. The Simpsons did somehow predict the rise of Donald Trump. I also felt Metalder in 1987 warned of the greedy oligarchy seeking to control the economy. Hmm... did Metalder also warn of the rise of Donald Trump in the person of Emperor Neros? Bioman did have one episode that may have warned about the rise of the welfare state and handouts. In 1989, Jiban did have a money-making Bionoid that let it rain money in the form of yen bills.

The episode has Shingo investigate the rumors of gold coins falling in the Kagiyama district in Japan. Then the worst fears are confirmed. The city has become a vice city in the process.

People want their gold coins and they will get it. Monster disguised as the "Golden Boss" tells them where the shower of gold coins will fall next. Well, doesn't that remind you of days when certain governments tell people when it's handouts day? Don't the people lining up remind you of people waiting for their handouts?

Chaos ensues when the golden coins fall. People are already going crazy collecting the golden coins. There was no real shower of gold coins. It's too good to be true. Doctor Man uses his Mecha Giant Mummy Kans (wrapped in some special filter) to become undetectable. The Mecha Giant throws in plenty of gold coins for people to pick up. Doctor Man's real intention was to let out the stupidity of people with free money. Doctor Man intends to turn it into a Vice City where he will rule it.

Did the people use the golden coins to buy rice and kangkong (water spinach)? Instead, we see people wasting their time in the arcade. Others are wasting their time gambling and drinking. What's so interesting is that the scene of people gambling and drinking with the golden coins they get. Good for the economy? The productivity in Kagiyama district has become so low only a few people work. Shingo had to challenge a few bums out of their Gear Empire handouts to get the people giving handouts to show up.

At the end of the episode, the Kagiyama district returns to normal when the shower of golden coins stopped.
