Kiramager Episode 6 - Sayo Becomes Mentally Five Years Old?
Well, it's time for another Kiramager review. At this point, I think I need to do some ToQGer rewatching because the two shows heavily rely on the power of IMAGINATION. In this one, the heroes have to use their imagination to bring back Sayo's mental age to normal.
The episode does open with a bit of flashback and some comedy. Sayo for one got chosen as a surgeon. That just reminds me of both Matsuri in GoGoFive and Dana in Lightspeed Rescue were in the medical field.
A new plan by Galza and Carantula was to release the Jamen Beast Cloud Hildon in pre-growth form. The human-sized monster of the week Digital Camera Jamen will gather its power. It would take people's photos and transport them inside of Cloud Hildon. The first two to get captured are both Shiguru and Sena. They're sent into some weird pocket dimension inside Cloud Hildon. They can't use their henshin powers. Wait, didn't we see that in an earlier episode of Hurricanger before?
The battle causes Sayo to hit her head and regress back to a five-year-old. Now, that's going to cause a lot of trouble being a child in an adult's body. They decided to visit her old aikido sensei.
Seiju Umon making a guest role has been very rare. Personally, I wish more old school Super Sentai cast members from the 80s to 90s (my favorite era) will make more guest roles. That is to support the younger generation. There's also some talk about how Sayo risked her life to save a dog when she was just five years old.
Meanwhile, the plan was to get everyone captured to trigger the inner heroine inside Sayo. Risky but it worked. Tametomo's plan had himself captured to find the location of the others.
So, Sena is basically a toddler flying a helicopter at this point. However, she does save the day before her memories recover. Cloud Hildon falls on top of Digital Camera Jamen which destroys the latter. The mecha scene isn't so good for me though.
Meanwhile, everyone wonders if Sayo won't recover. However, after being hit AGAIN - she regains her present-day memories. For me, I can't really determine my feelings for this episode yet. I mean, last year's Super Sentai was really rock bottom on my list that I'm keeping a lower bar right now. Not to mention I'm also looking for other new school stuff and stuff from a few years back to enjoy. That means Super Sentai isn't even top priority!
Next week, Juuru will get a lot of training. Fortunately, the actor Rio Komiya has been discharged from the hospital after contracting the Legacy Virus. Hopefully, Japan will be able to find something to slow down the Legacy Virus infection.
Lots of Super Sentai References here. First, the monster of the week is a reference to Choujin Sentai JetMan Episodes 13 and 14, where nearly all of the JetMen sans Ryuu Tendou/Red Hawk and the other victims were captured in the photograph dimensions by the Camera Dimension and Maria/Rie Aoi, only to be freed by Jet Striker/Fire Bazooka which hits the said enemies, including Gray, who tried to protect Maria and the Camera Dimension from exploding. Gray failed. Second, Seiju Umon a.k.a. Aohisa Takayasu (Sharma Knight Tribe Goushi/MammothRanger)! Mio Kudou (Sayo Ooharu/KiramaiPink) admitted that he is like a father to her because of the generation gaps. Mr. Umon is Batch 1992 while Mio-chan is Batch 2020. A 28 year difference, huh? And lastly, Sayo is like Kagura Izumi/ToQ 5gou, another Pink Sentai Heroine. The ToQgers were evolved from the children into teenagers/early adults and practicing surgery or any medical work is NOT recommended for children, particularly preschoolers, because otherwise, it'll cause harm to grown-ups. So, move forward to the future and leave the past behind! Next two weeks: The continuation of the ToQger reference and the Conductor/ToQ 7gou must watch these!
