My Thoughts On Super Hero Time's Hiatus Due To The COVID-19/Legacy Virus Pandemic

It's really something to consider when the COVID-19 which I'd like to call as the Legacy Virus had become a global pandemic. The virus came from Wuhan late 2019 and the Legacy Virus has mutated into different strains. Thinking about the COVID-19 reminds me of the deadly disease in the X-Men franchise. The symptoms of COVID-19 and the Legacy Virus are very similar. Both viruses are airborne agents. Both viruses cause fever, cough, and overall weakness. Recently, the COVID-19 may also cause skin lesions - something the Legacy Virus did to mutants infected by the virus. The Legacy Virus was a terrifying worldwide pandemic that was blamed on mutants. Right now, Asians are also getting blamed in some parts of the world for supposedly being the source of the virus. In the X-Men: The Animated Series episode "Time Fugitives" - Forge mentioned that mutants were blamed but they were innocent.

It's really sad when you consider how Rio Komiya was hit by the Legacy Virus. Fortunately, news of him having recovered from it is there but Toei Ltd. can't risk any more cast members getting hit by it. While enough footage was produced for the meantime but Super Hero Time is under assault. Toei Ltd. has every valid reason to cease studio operations in the meantime due to the Legacy Virus epidemic. However, not so many are fortunate. They can't risk any more infections considering how contagious the Legacy Virus can become.

We can't deny that the Japanese government is doing its job. Toei Ltd.'s decision right now is being compliant with the Japanese government. It's only fair that Super Hero Time gets suspended. What's the use of admiring the good examples of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider if fans get too disappointed about the necessary suspension? If anything, the heroes from both franchises would selflessly put everything aside to help combat the Legacy Virus. Just think about some of the lessons in Super Sentai and Kamen Rider about what to do in times of danger. In GoGoFive and Dekaranger - we have people being told to stay where they are and wait until the giant monster battle is finished. There is the evacuation procedure because we know giant monster battles cause tremendous damage to the city. Japan itself is a country of high discipline which leads to lesser casualties. Other countries worth commending are Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia. Singapore may have the highest rate right now in ASEAN but the death rate is rather low. Hopefully, Singapore will be able to get through its current crisis with continued discipline. The Philippines should also learn from those countries if they want to get over the Legacy Virus crisis one way or another.

What can you do to help during the Legacy Virus crisis? If you can't volunteer for the frontline then stay at home as much as possible. Go out only in an emergency and make sure you have your quarantine pass when you do so. Why stay at home as much as possible? It's because a virus without a host will eventually die out. Social distancing is necessary to greatly flatten the curve of the virus. If you want to do something heroic then why not donate cash online to any charity organization or any local parish you may be a part of. Just remember don't give any money or resources to leftist organizations. If you're into business then donate cash or kind but don't do it for recognition. Donating to front-liners will help them do their job. Staying at home as much as possible also means reducing the workload of front-liners of having to rescue sick patients or dispose of dead bodies. Just keep your transactions personal for your own security purposes. Remember, a real good deed is only good when you don't do it for attention-seeking.

At this point, let's just do our part in battling the Legacy Virus!
