Super Sentai Seasons That Got Sandwiched In Between Better Seasons

Super Sentai is a series that's got its ups and downs. It's actually beneficial to watch both old school and new school to have a better understanding of the series. Now, I'd like to list some Super Sentai seasons which I felt got sandwiched in between better seasons.

Dengekitai JAKQ

After Himitsu Sentai Goranger became a hit - JAKQ just didn't get enough love and it only ended in 35 episodes. Yes, it was a pretty rushed season after Goranger ran for TWO YEARS. Yes, two years but it's still a little more merciful than Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers running for three years! Anyway, JAKQ as a series just really didn't get that popular that a one-year hiatus for Sentai came. It didn't help that Battle Fever J (the series that put Super into Super Sentai) came in further overshadowed it.

Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger

After Chikyu Sentai Fiveman nearly ended Super Sentai - Chojin Sentai Jetman came to the rescue. Jetman became A Tough Act to Follow. I felt that Gai Yuki's rather unbelievable death was probably a teaser meant to say Super Sentai was ending until the end credits showed that a new series was coming. Enter Zyuranger! The late Noboru Sugimura did everything he could to start a new series but it was too kid-focused. It didn't help matters that Gosei Sentai Dairanger came in and further overshadowed Zyuranger. Zyuranger did eventually get vindicated via Shout! Factory DVDs then again some people probably sold their Zyuranger DVDs for Dairanger DVDs, huh? If ever Shout! Factory releases Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger - just expect Zyuranger to lose attention again. As said, just because I don't like Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers doesn't mean I'm willing to ignore whatever flaws this show has.

Engine Sentai Go-Onger

Go-Onger is overshadowed by Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. Go-Onger is perhaps a series where there's hardly any middle ground - either you love it or you hate it. Go-Onger had a crossover with Gekiranger and Shinkenger. Sadly, I think Gekiranger and Shinkenger will get more attention than them. Also, maybe watching Gekisou Sentai Carranger may really make anyone look down on this series. Carranger (at least for me) was more organized and funnier than Go-Onger.

Tensou Sentai Goseiger

Ten years ago, this series was born and I admit I really didn't like this series. I have shallow reasons (ex. the Shinkenger girls are hotter) to valid ones (it tends to be bore-fest). Well, Power Rangers Megaforce is even way worse to the point this show suddenly looks decent. However, it doesn't change the fact that both Shinkenger and Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger overshadow it. Shinkenger indirectly grabs the attention away from Go-Onger, Kamen Rider Decade, and now this show. Gokaiger stepped in and proved itself to be a huge anniversary season. What made it way better than Megaforce? No season split and a clearer storyline - something Megaforce NEVER had. Then again ignoring Power Rangers - this show is still low-tier.
