Kiramager 39: The Emperor's Sniper

 

I'm amazed at how Kiramager has managed to spread out Naruhisa Arakawa better than ToQGer spread out Yasuko Kobayashi. This week's writer is Kaori Kaneko who's also written some of the more imaginative episodes. Though, I do have quite some mixed feelings this week!

The odd personality of Emperor Yodonheim is even worse than what Grand Lord Crisis had in Kamen Rider Black RX. Grand Lord Crisis had his other personality in General Dasmader. In this case, Shadon the famed sniper is also another host body for Emperor Yodonheim. I wonder how are these personalities not even aware that they're parts of Emperor Yodonheim? I have a theory that these masks used by Yodonheim are the ones that need a body. So both Shadon and Yodonna are actually borrowing the emperor's body and not the other way around.

We have Mabusheena's coming-of-age ceremony. Sorry to say but some coming-of-age ceremonies have been simplified to the max due to the Legacy Virus pandemic. Both Tametomo and Takamichi take her out to buy some jewels for that occasion. 

The plan of Shadon was to use Mabusheena as bait and turn the Kiramagers into mud balls. It's a very threatening move towards the heroes now, isn't it? Takemichi is the first as he was trying to protect Mabusheena as her adopted brother. 

What makes Shadon scary is that he moves through... shadows! Yes, he moves into an  empty warehouse and he moves just anywhere, where a shadow is cast. It really should be scary he could use your own shadow against you.

The use of giant mecha battle is just plain genius! Having Garza launch the Smog Jouki with a Jamen Beast was there to cast bigger shadows. Bigger shadows mean Shadon has more spaces to carry his will out. 

Shado's ability to shoot is that great. Mabusheena does reveal to the heroes that Shadon is a mercenary working for Yodonheim. Both Sena and Tametomo are the next targets.

As the sun sets down then so do the hopes of the Kiramagers to take down Shadon. Shadn is taking advantage of the darkness to his full capacity. 

Fortunately, King Oradin is summoned and this tries to help the situation. They need a bright light to help reveal Shadon's locations. 

However, while it seemed that Kiramei Yellow was captured but he wasn't. He used Takamichi as a mud ball to fool Shadon. This allows him to defeat Shadon and to restore the others. However, a darker secret is about to be revealed also to the Kiramagers. 

None of the suspected that Shadon is just like Yodonna - a host body for Emperor Yodon. The defeat of Shadon meant the end of the Shadon mask used by Emperor Yodon. I hope Emperor Yodon decides to give Yodonna a body of her own to make the finale more challenging. TBH, it was quite disappointing to see Shadon go away like that. Emperor Yodon vows to avenge Shadon. I think this may prove my speculation that the Shadon Mask needs a body to be worn and that for some reason, Emperor Yodon uses both the Shadon and Yodonna masks which are separate personalities of their own. Are these masks like the Rouki mask in Hyajakuu Sentai Gaoranger? 

Mabusheena tries to apologize. However, the Kiramagers tell her that it's not her fault. 

Next week will involve a case of a Marrskman infiltrating the ranks. It's already very common to create an imposter to cause strife among the rangers. I'm just thinking if Toei (the ones who filmed the Zyu2 footage for Saban) may have decided to revisit one of their long-shelved projects.
