Right now, I'm somewhat skeptical about Boonboomger . I'll wait until the finale before I give my overall thoughts -- IF EVER! The press conference happened yesterday and failed to give an update immediately. Once again, this blog is nothing more than a hobby. As I look into the cast -- it's got the expected super young cast! Yes, I'm feeling old for the nth time ! Entering a new phase of life is like blowing a cake with a stick of dynamite on top! The cast of No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger (yes, THAT is the title) has its main cast born in the 2000s. It's been some time since different eras. Super Sentai has had some "reboots"  with a "finale series" or that the Heisei era ended with Super Sentai Strongest Battle . The cast is getting young and I'm getting old! Once again, Super Sentai is a kiddie show and it may not go on hiatus. It's amazing how Super Sentai might also be another reason why the Metal Hero franchise and the Super Robot franchis...

  Here's an artwork by Nick Peppermint . I can't match Nick's drawing skills. Snake-themed characters are often evil. Japanese entertainment has inspiration from American entertainment. Toei might be one of the most notorious for doing so. Toei is no exception to the rule. Toei would use snake-themed monsters every now and then. Kamen Rider started using snake-themed monsters. Super Sentai and Metal Hero followed suit too. It's expected given the amount of popular culture Toei gets into their shows! I decided to write this since this Chinese New Year 2025 is the Year of the Snake! Two rangers in Super Sentai have a snake theme. It took some time. Cancer sucks and it's a bad way to go. Robert Baldwin died of colon cancer on December 26, 2024, after a two-year battle. Yuka Motohashi also died of cancer in 2024. I believe Boonboomger gave Yuka a tribute episode in a way . I wasn't a huge fan of Kyoryuger's story but I sure enjoyed its unmorphed fights. It can be easy to accept Olf Otsuki's death at 86. Ichiro Mizuki died of cancer in his 70s. Baldwin was only 59. This young death reminds me that Shotaro Ishinomori left us so soon at only 60 years old -- due to LYMPHATIC CANCER. Soga Machiko left the world due to pancreatic cancer at 68 years old. These can be heavy. Right now, I can imagine how the seven year olds last 2013 may still be too hurt as young adults over this incident! It might be interesting to know that Power Rangers Jungle Fury had the Spirit Ranger concept. It's too obvious Super Sentai and Power Rangers have been copying from popular culture. It's Christmas Eve, and I thought of what might be a bizarre irony. Last year's Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger didn't have a Christmas special, and the episode aired on December 24, 2024 . This year's Boonboomger had a Christmas special, presumably because Santa Claus is the ultimate delivery man. Santa Claus' mythos is are status-dependent on version . Santa Claus: The Movie tells a different story from Rankin Bass' Santa Claus stories. I found it bizarre but is there a reason some Super Sentai entries have a Christmas special and some just don't? Santa Claus: Look kid, there's no Super Sentai timeline, okay? I guess the debate will NEVER end whether or not there's a Super Sentai timeline, right ? Well, maybe. This week's Donbrothers' episode does give us another view of Santa Claus. Interestingly, Ichiro Mizuki died on December 6 -- the traditional feast day of Saint Nicholas aka the real Santa Claus. Here, we're talking about a fictionalized non-existent Santa Claus who either lives at the North Pole or in some strange dimension. The portrayal of the jolly old man in a right red suit really differs. Just because newer Super Sentai goes for a mostly lighter and softer approach -- doesn't mean legal drama can't be involved. Sure, we can't have brutal scenes like more mature crime dramas.  Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger has the International Space Agency. Rather than take the usual easy way out -- Boonboomger decides to add some crime drama into it. The ISA's supposedly responsible for law and order. It turns out that it's been infiltrated by CORRUPTION! Wairudo Spindo has had been paying off CORRUPT ISA officials. It turns out that Director Eiichiro Tokoyari is a SELF-SERVING PERSON. Tokoyari enters into what might be an uneasy deal with Wairudo. This is a typical crime drama element when it comes to CORRUPT OFFICIALS. This might be in a different light than Captain Ryuuya Asami's involvement in Mirai Sentai Timeranger . Ryuuya didn't have any real alliances with the Londarz Family. Super Sentai has made certain American pop culture references. Heck, even Metal Hero and Kamen Rider have had them. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Tokosou Robo Janperson came AFTER Robocop or how Knight Rider inspired Tokkei Winspector and Kamen Rider Drive . Tokosou Sentai Dekaranger may have made several references to American movies such as Armageddon , Rocky Balboa , Speed , Die Hard , and Men in Black . It's not too surprising whenever Super Sentai and Power Rangers may have made nods to each other . Dragon Ball Z blatantly has American references such as the Days of Future Past storyline with Future Trunks or Frieza's third form with Aliens . Without much ado -- I want to present every terminology done in Power Rangers first that I'm A-OK will be used in conversations.
