I wrote a post where I raised my ever-changing opinions on Gougou Sentai Boukenger . Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger  aired in 2023 -- the same year as Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers' anniversary . I even felt King-Ohger probably felt that it was going to be that signal that Super Sentai was getting ready to be enshrined at Toei HQ as a museum relic. I decided to revisit the Corona Aurora plot from Power Ranges' Operation Overdrive . It was all because of King-Ohger's 18th episode , where the Founder's Crown was introduced as a plot device. It's a relic of Shugoddom that was introduced sometime later as a moving plot device. Still, I can't get over how the concept was almost from Operation Overdrive . The Battlizer that Kuwagata-Ohger dons (the King Kuwagata-Ohger) may remind some of the Operation Overdrive Battlizer. The difference was that Red Overdrive Ranger merged with Sentinel Knight to create the Battlizer. This Battlizer seems almost unintentional. After all...

Gougou Sentai Boukenger would have a reunion this year, which is something. Yes, Super Sentai is on hiatus, but it can't be denied that somehow, it's still "in the memories". I thought Super Sentai was having a clearance sale , but it turns out that it wasn't. Yes, we're having Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity and it's going to be replaced with Kaikusetsu Omegahorn . I decided to think about how Boukenger was the 30th entry and how my views changed with this series over time. Granted, Super Sentai was just a hobby and blogging is just a hobby, you can't expect me not to shift opinions overtime or shift gears too fast! Personally, I feel Boukenger gets too much credit at times . Sure, I still enjoy it, but it's just that I don't think it's all that great after some time.   Some time ago, I wrote about why I prefer  Choriki Sentai Ohranger over Power Rangers Zeo . As this year is Gekisou Sentai Carranger's 30th anniversary (and sadly, Yuka Motohashi has joined Thuy Trang so soon after she lost her battle to cancer) -- I wanted to write this one. Sure, I wrote about how Power Rangers is better than Super Sentai for the American audience . Now, I thought about revisiting Carranger and Turbo on one aspect: the LATTER'S NARRATIVE CLUTTER. One of the many reasons why I don't like Power Rangers is the NARRATIVE CLUTTER. Some people may remember how Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers actually had three seasons; Zeo was just a continuation of Mighty Morphin' Season 3 (and it made the teenagers look like they would never graduate until Turbo ). It's almost the month's end in May, and summer vacation memories are coming to an END. The Super Sentai hiatus made me rewrite IBC-13's bad scheduling . I didn't realize that a short trip to Toy Kingdom suddenly reminded me of another childhood of lies -- them old Bandai merchandise overload in the 1990s! A trip to Toy Kingdom at my current age made me think of the Toys R Us jingle. I could talk about the older merchandise that hit the toy stores like the once huge SM Toy Store, the now-defunct Nova Fontana, and SM's very own Toy Kingdom.   Last year, I made a post where I mentioned how Dengeki Sentai Changeman made me see Power Rangers in Space as an overrated gamble . Super Sentai being off-air made me think that my IBC-13 post should've been the "swan song" of this blog . However, Super Sentai's hiatus is the standard of "never forgotten" even if the franchise had its closure with No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger . However, Shogo B'Stard's current Chikyu Sentai Fiveman marathon made me want to do some random rants. I wanted to do a Flashman marathon with my own crazy twists. Super Sentai may be on hiatus, but I felt like still giving it the honors every now and then. This photo can be so sad, just thinking of how Yuka Motohashi (who played as Natsumi Shinohara in Gekisou Sentai Carranger ) left us so soon due to cancer. Carranger's 30th anniversary happened this year, and that show could've been the anniversary. Instead, there was the contender because Choriki Sentai Ohranger was actually the 20th anniversary of Himitsu Sentai Goranger . The references were hard to dismiss like the military trend with Goranger , Dengeki Sentai Changeman , and Ohranger . It was also on 1995 when Goranger became more recognized as the first true Super Sentai series! Apparently, there was some kind of identity crisis. Should a Super Sentai series celebrate its anniversary by year or by entry number ? Do the mathematics.  Ohranger was the 20th birthday of Goranger . Carranger was the 20th Super Sentai entry. Super Sentai may be on hiatus. However, it doesn't mean that history can be forgotten. We don't cling ot the past, but we don't forget it either. I'd like to let off some steam with this rant post. Some Filipinos may remember IBC-13.  There was the catchy theme song, "Pinoy Ang Dating" (The Filipino Feel). It was played on loop on that network. It could serve as a good memory for 90s children. Was that memory really a good memory or a good memory based on a LIE? Read and find out!
