Lin the Beautiful Phoenix

So where do I start?  So let's think of it that Lin does deserve some spotlight.  She may be eye candy but beware, she is an eye bruiser.  Yes she's blazing hot but she's also the phoenix that can scorch.  Now let's get down to the cake and not the icing.  Lin started off pretty much as an exchange student from China to where she was the only Dairanger who can control ki energy out of suit, pretty much not the kind of girl you want to mess with.  Though she was the only female Dairanger, she had shown some really badass moves beneath her elegant, girly exterior which made her a really fun to watch heroine.  So pretty much like it, Lin was a student and a ranger at the same time- pretty much tough work yet she manages to pull through.

Aside from being a badass, she does possess other qualities a woman usually can do better like being the team heart or the one to talk sense into the males whenever they don't make any sense.  Of course, that's one attribute that shows she's not exactly purely badass, also she can be the team conscience and that her beauty is but a bonus to the kind personality she has deep within her.  Also, she had learned in some way to be a cosplayer for certain occasions which I do like to credit her more for her wits than her fists, but in due fairness she still does kick butt but I like her being in some ways, a strategist.  Although it can't be denied before she got developed, she was nearly sacrificed into the bizarre Gorma ritual of Nidoru Budo... to which after her experience she had learned to be better.

Her supposedly regular life as a ranger went upside down for the moment when Kou arrived into her life.  So yeah, Kou had a crush on her despite their rather huge age gap and two, it would be pedophilia if they dated during that time.  But in the process, she managed to help Kou change for the better and the latter went from a perverted kid to a more behaved kid thanks to her and the Byakkoshinken.  She had become Kou's elder sister who managed to train Kou for the better, which makes it fun to watch.  Also, she later got involved with Kou especially when it came to reuniting him with his mother, or two preventing Kou from becoming a Gorma.

There was also one part of her life that was quite the saddest... that was her falling for the Media Magician in his human form.  She did become an idol- yes and the Media Magician originally was assigned to take pictures of her which in the process will use up her life force and eventually kill her.  While the deception was going on, her kindness to the Media Magician caused him to reveal the truth he was a Gorma.  The fake Gara obviously got mad that her well thought of plan failed and the Media Magician was killed.  Angered, she revealed much of her kickass side showing how the beauty of the phoenix could actually scorch those who infuriate it.  She in the end really was hurt yet she decided not to let that hurt, hurt her and continued to fight or two, continued to be Kou's older sister figure for the better.  However her rivalry with the fake Gara still went on until the revelation of the real Gara was revealed- that Shaddam had deceived them from the very beginning during the final battle.

In between, she was team support at all times during the time Master Kaku decided to fight the Gorma Emperor.  What puzzles me however if she is Master Kaku's niece and the latter is Gorma, then she has Gorma blood but nothing was revealed more of that.  So yeah, she could have been purified like Kou was.  It pretty much hurt her to see her uncle Master Kaku die at Shaddam's hands which then proceeded to wrap up her rivalry with the fake Gara.  After the defeat of the fake Gara, she joined the others in the battle against Shaddam to which she and the others gave up their powers.

Fifty years later came (wow that's a lot of time), she had aged into a lovely grandmother.  Whether or not she married Kou is but for me, nah she didn't.  Who she married is unknown but I would like to speculate she had married Takeru.

  1. Personally, if Lin married anyone, my money would be on Ryo.

  2. One of the reasons why I waned Dairanger to be adapted is because, to me, I think Lin and Kimberly mirror each other. Both are beautiful woman, good fighters, and toughter than they appear, Kimberly would've been perfect as the Phoenix Ranger or if used in PR, Pink Thunder Ranger

    1. For Kimberly, she's more eye candy while Lin is really a bruiser. I mean I'd prefer dating Kimberly over Lin. Now I even have a speculation that Mako is based on Kimberly. =P

  3. LOL
Lin wasn't bad looking, I'd say Mako was more eye candy. Yes, Kimberly was too, but by season 2 she grew more into an all around woman, more than the ditzy, only wants to shop, cares about her nails, clothes, and hair girl in season 1
