Ryusoulger Episode 15: King Of The Deep Sea

Well, it's time for another episode of Ryusoulger. This week, it's written by good ole Naruhisa Arakawa. If thou noticest (if ever you're an old school fan) you may notice some references from the 90s here. But before that -- the focus is on the Mosa Rex and the conflict within the Ryusoul Tribe.

Kanaro is still in the land in search of a bride. So why is finding a bride for him on land that important? Is their side of the land ahem water already endangered or what? He then useth his water telepathy to talk to the ride of Ryugu Castle.

He talketh with his younger sister Oto (who's 109 years old in human years) is also looking for a husband. Kanaro says, "But thou art still a child!" to his younger sister Oto. I just thought about how the Ryusoulgers are 200+ years old but look very young. My theory is that they age every 100 years so the Ryusoul Elder (who's still missing) must be at least 600 to 900 years old then! Hmmm I wonder how do these guys ever adjust to modern technology?

Naohisa mistaketh his daughter Ui for a Ryusoul Tribe member in disguise. Insert cartoony or Anime-ish humor here! There art some folklore we art yet to see here my friends! Ui trieth to take a look at the eccentric magnetic professor Don Jiro. However, there's no new update.

It turneth out that a new monster is about to be born of Don Jiro. This would create the Pan Menasaur out from said character. I really have to admit that this is a frightening thought. Just imagine if you are just minding your own business AND suddenly half-brained villains decided to create a monster out of you?

Oto goeth into the surface world -- a decision that would prove fatal to her. So, technically speaking she is still a CHILD in Ryusoul standards. Kanaro trieth to convince her but she lieth about returning to Ryugu Castle. She getteth herself kidnapped by Creon in the process.

The effect of Pan Menasaur is magnetic. I suggest watching Dairanger episode 11 where Father Magnet used magnetic polarities to cause trouble. In this episode, Arakawa only uses the repelling properties of like poles in order to focus on the latest Bandai merchandise.

There's some impressive suit fight scenes with Kanaro (who did an out-of-suit last week with a jump kick) and Koh. Koh useth whatever moves his actor learned from the action team. I'm pretty impressed actually with how Koh still trieth to get Kanaro on their side.

However, the folklore revealeth that somehow Ryugu Castle was created out of conflict. The conflict between people in the Ryusoul Tribe caused the drift. Somehow, the people of Ryugu was born out of it. Mosa Rex arriveth and they create a new city underwater. Speaking of Mosa Rex -- didn't Jurassic World's two movies have the same creature? Also, how did the ancestors of Canaro learn to breathe underwater?

I would admit the scene has some interesting action out-of-suit scenes inserted. The carnage here is getting worse is when a mother and daughter are ripped apart by the Pan Menasaur. Just then something hilarious is about to happen next

The Ryusoulgers are the next victim of the bond breaking magnet. They all get launched far away. So, the victims don't die but end up in various places as revealed...

Okay, is Ryusoulger now encouraging people in summer break to visit these places? Melt endeth up in  Hokkaido. Asuna endeth up in Okinawa. Towa endeth up in Tottori sand dunes. Banba endeth up in Kyoto. This really is a good tourism campaign if you ask me for the summer. However, they all do return driving their mecha but they are still unable to combine because of the magnetic poles they're afflicted with.

However, there's no bond yet between Ryusoul Red and Ryusoul Gold so they aren't torn apart by the beam. They do end up working together. Ryusoul Red doth everything to help Ryusoul Gold get his sister back. I love how Ryusoul Red manageth to do everything he could such as stop the others from attacking because of the hostage crisis. Then there's what water splash that alloweth Ryusoul Gold to telepathically communicate with Mosa Rex. Also, Ryusoul Gold useth his electricity attacks to reverse the polarity allowing the Ryusoulgers to combine.

Mosa Rex here seemeth to do some tribute to Jurassic World scenes. Remember that scene when a mosasaur swallowed a pterodactyl? The Kishin Ryu doth take its passengers into its mouth as seen with Oto. It would later capture an enlarged Pan Menasaur and throw it off to its doom.

However, Kanaro isn't ready to join yet. He returneth to Ryugu Castle. Mosa Rex is still paranoid about the other Ryusoulgers. What was really that thousand-year grudge to start with?  Is Mosa Rex that stupid to keep holding it? I suspect somebody in the Druidons caused that trouble thousands of years ago.

Now, for a bit of spoiler from the show itself. The ending credits dance featureth Kanaro as part of the team. But how he will join with them is still unknown. I guess he may bury the grudge but he would still operate on his own and join in when the city is in danger.

Next week would feature the humanoid form of Mosa Rex. It would be interesting to see a new duel. Will Gachileus be destroyed and Wizeru return? I wonder if that's what the preview is implying.
