Ryusoulger 28: Asuna's Bad Birthday Present

Well, it's not exactly the focus of this week's Ryusoulger episode, now is it? This week does almost take a note from Jetman. Granted, it's written by Naruhisa Arakawa who did write some controversial Jetman episodes before. Now, let's get started!

We start off with a training scene between Nada and Koh. Nada shows how Koh can be quite shaky in this out-of-suit action scene. I'm just wondering is Nada's actor also a stunt double at times? If I'm not wrong -- stunt doubles tend to train the regular cast members too.

Creon has one bad birthday present. Does he have Google and found out when Asuna's birthday was? He throws in some confetti. What looks like a harmless prank would soon result in a huge disaster.

It turns out that a microscopic Menasaur had just entered Asuna's system. Beelzebub Menasaur is based on the lord of the flies. Just a sidenote, Beelzebub is also known as the mythological lord of the flies and it's not a very good name.

Both Ryusoul Red and Ryusoul Blue enter into Asuna's systems. The drawback is the more they fight -- the more Asuna gets into real pain. It gets more complicated because the monster has wrapped its tail around Asuna's heart. Both of them decide to retreat because of this complication.

Meanwhile, Canaro does get into a bit of a heartbroken misadventure. Note to Creon -- why don't you make a Menasaur out of Canaro?! We see Ranto who's had a quarrel with his wife Hitomi. He's now the current host. Canaro's plan may seem childish but it's really going to kill Asuna if the Menasaur enlarges inside her. Canaro does show off some out-of-suit which I believe a good portion of it was cut due to timing issues.

Nada tries to make Koh use a focus punch. I find this to be a very hard thing. Ryusoul Red must use the Smash Soul and punch the balloon without bursting it -- just the net. Nada gets frustrated at Koh being too shaky as said in the beginning.

Meanwhile, both Ryusoul Green and Ryusoul Black are trying to stop the Menasaur from growing. However, Gachileus later appears in the fray. Is there some conflict in the level of command of the Druidons right now?

Asuna does stand up in spite of her weakened condition. She makes Koh regain his confidence. I do find this a very thrilling scene. One wrong move and it's over!

Meanwhile, Ryusoul Gold, Ryusoul Green, and Ryusoul Black are still fighting Gachileus. It's not going to be easy in their attempt to prevent Asuna from getting ripped apart.

Koh finally gets it done. The Smash Soul manages to break the wrap without hurting Asuna. Asuna sneezes the monster out which is just funny. They do deal with its enlarged form. I'm glad that the Smash Soul can be used by anybody too -- not just Ryusoul Red.

It's nice to see the couple reconcile. Canaro just watches from a distance though. Somehow, he's still fixated in finding a bride.

Nada still looks critical looking at the current generation of Ryusoulgers. Right now, I can't really tell what plans do writers and producers have for his character.

Next week, is that Akiko from Kamen Rider W? Will Canaro finally get married or will the gag run on and on at the cost of character development? It just reminds me how I love to make my characters fail for laughs -- something that shoudl be deemed as silly and just completely unnecessary!
