My Reaction To Early 'Mashin Sentai Kiramager' First Updates

Once again, I've got my JEFusion (and yes, I'm no longer a guest writer there) and UkiyaSeed to thank for this one. As said, any news ain't what I do. I just react to news when it's given. Here are a few information of what I gathered and I'll just share what I think. I took everything in italics from both JEFusion (which includes the picture above) and UkiyaSeed just to let you know.

About the heroes 

Here are the earliest details about the heroes:

The Kiramagers are five youths that have the shining spirit called "Kiramental" in their bodies. These youths possessed mysterious gems with mysterious powers called Kiramai Stones and with it they transform into magical warriors to fight the evil Yodon Army as the Kiramagers! These heroes are: 

• Inspiration Sparkling! The Creative Warrior, Kiramai Red! Possessing the Red Kiramai Stone, he fights by harnessing an infinite amount of shining mental images! 
• Sword Point Unstoppable! The Slashing Warrior, Kiramai Blue! Possessing the Blue Kiramai Stone, he can use sword techniques and unique slashing attacks! 
• Guidance Shooting! The Shooting Warrior, Kiramai Yellow! Possessing the Yellow Kiramai Stone, he can utilize several shooting attacks and techniques!
• Charging Lightning! The Speed Warrior, Kiramai Green! Possessing the Green Kiramai Stone, she can unleash a successive series of high speed attacks!
• Manipulation Incredible! The Healing Warrior, Kiramai Pink! Possessing the Pink Kiramai Stone, she is really good at aikido!

The transformation device of our heroes is the Kiramai Changer, which has four modes: Kiramager Transformation, Vehicle Summon, Communication, and Mysterious Search. As for the weapons, Yellow and Pink are both equipped with Kiramai Shot, which can fire round, disc-like bullets called Kiramai Bullets, which are charged with Kiramental! 

Blue and Green are primarily equipped with the clear blade, the Kiramai Sword! With the shining, they slash enemies in half! Both weapons are made of Kiramai Stones, making them incredible items. Lastly, unleash the maximum abilities of Kiramental as Red combines the Kiramai Shot and Sword to form the Kiramai Buster! This ultimate combining bazooka can only be used by someone with strong Kiramental like Red! ​When this weapon is charging with Kiramental energy, the gauge will start to light up to indicate its progress, and finally, Red will unleash one powerful attack! 

Finally, the team's personal mecha are called "Mashin", and Kiramai Red's personal mecha is a red sports car! More details about these giant machines will be revealed soon! Mashin Sentai Kiramager is set to premiere on March 8, 2020, replacing Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger in its current 9:30am timeslot. As previously reported, the team will make their first appearance in the upcoming Ryusoulger vs. Lupinranger vs. Patranger film, which is set for a February 8, 2020 release in Japan.

Now, it's time for my personal opinions. As said, if you disagree with me then fine. I just want to stress my personal opinion on what's going on.

So it's magic and cars? Well, didn't we have that with Turboranger and more importantly Carranger? Carranger used magic cars. Turboranger had them use fairy magic plus modern technology. I feel Carranger still had better execution in the mecha department while I'm probably still a bigger Turboranger fan. Though in terms of cars - isn't this the fourth car-themed Super Sentai? We had Turboranger (1989), Carranger (1996), and Go-Onger (2008). The difference is Go-Onger has talking animal-vehicle hybrids while Turboranger and Carranger had none. So maybe, it's still an automobile trilogy than tetralogy huh? Though just thinking of theme repetition car magic has me worried. We're having dinosaurs the fourth time around and now cars again? I feel like the people behind Super Sentai today are running out of ideas!

Now, for the first hero details. Here are a series of reactions to each one of them:

• Kiramai Red's imagination power is clearly taken from ToQGer and Akibaranger. I wonder how his imagination power will work.
• Kiramai Blue is the swordsman this time around? The first Super Sentai swordsman wasn't a red ranger but Battle France in Battle Fever J. 
• Kiramai Yellow will be a shooter. Would this warrior possess a bow or a gun?
• Kiramai Green will be the second Super Sentai female in green. The first one was Hammy from Kyuranger.
• Kiramai Pink is a healer? Well, I noticed women tend to be used as healers in RPGs. Granted, pink rangers are the team heart that proves brawns ain't everything in battle. I guess her aikido skills are added to make sure that she can still defend herself.
