Ryusoulger 38: Temple In The Sky

This episode somehow gets a bit more of Dragon Quest with the title itself. If my memory serves me right - there's always this kind of trend in European Middle Ages-inspired stories. I mean, some of the best Japanese RPGs have had that kind of plot, right? Now, moving on and remember - Michael Bay errr Koichi Sakamoto directed this episode!

You can tell things are getting desperate. I mean, aren't we at December already? Gachileus is now determined to destroy the Ryusoulgers once and for all. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

The Ryusoulgers are now searching for the Temple in the Sky. They see a massive sky fortress which takes Koh and Canaro into it.

Meanwhile, Gachileus releases his own Menasaur called the Charybdis Menasaur. I guess releasing a monster from your own body is a sign you're indeed desperate. Sometimes, I can't help but think of Jarmin's desperate attack when she released Kuroko Bouma in Turboranger.

Meanwhile, fan service and PSA, anyone? I feel like this is a bit of a lesson of the week not to fight on an empty stomach.

Meanwhile, trials are set at the Temple of Beginnings. The character Yuno (which was at the Ryusoulger movie which I'm yet to see) shows up and tells them to survive trials. Koh must endure his own partner Tyramigo and Canaro the freezing power of Pterardon. I do feel like Bay is directing this episode right now!

Meanwhile, Gachileus allows Creon to insult him. The plot? Well, Gachileus wants the Menasaur born from him to grow large. This creates a lot of problems. Side note, I noticed that the Ryusoulgers did fight unmorphed at first before this scene happens.

Your friends or power? They are told to fight for the Ryusoul Calibur. Both of them value each other more than the sword. That alone got the power to be unlocked. For me, this is a good test of values. Though after they pass - it seems Bay himself just pressed the button to trigger more explosions! Sakamoto obviously has his name written over explosions in Japan, huh? Then again is Bay secretly working with Toei?

The next scene has them both using the power human-sized. I was expecting some upgrade for the mecha. Hmmm... do I have the right to even say I'm kinda feeling upset here?

Right now, I just can't wait to see what desperate move Gachileus will have next. He seems way too determined to end it once and for all. It's a Do or Die Mission now, isn't it?

Next week is the Christmas episode. While Kamen Rider Zero-One doesn't seem to have it but Ryusoulger will. I just need to brace myself over the holiday stress though!
