Zenkaiger Episode 4: Vroom Joins The Team

As expected, this is the week that concludes the gathering of the Zenkaigers. I'm still thinking about the rather underappreciated Kabutack and Robotack - both series that caused the Metal Hero franchise to be canceled in the late 90s. Is Toei trying to revisit the concepts? Also, in this episode, we have Vroom the final member who starts to make me think of Optimus Primal from the Beast Wars season of The Transformers

The series starts off by revealing how lowly people can get in the Tojitend Empire. Vroom questions Professor Ijirude about the release of the different worlds. The policy is to kill any member of the empire who discovers what Bokkowaus doesn't want to be discovered.

A new half-brained plan that's launched involves a mosnter known as Boxer World making people fight each other. A wedding is turned into a brawl. A fan-signing event (Where's the social distancing?) turns into a brawl. An old man who eats at the candy store goes berserk.

The interaction of Vroom (as an escapee) creates some interesting results. Vroom (like the others) is still amazed at this new world. Earlier on, Vroom was rescued from Ijirude and Boxer World.

It's revealed that the Zenkaiger continuity was supposed to be collected. Instead, some kind of malfunction created the merging of the worlds instead. The concept of merged worlds has always been a staple in fiction, huh? I can't help but think of the classic Marvel vs. Capcom games thinking about this.

Vroom reveals his punching skills. Some may say he looks like Optimus Prime from the Unicron trilogy. Yup, in part, though the design is also Daibouken from Boukenger. Though, that strength feels like that of a gorilla - that's why I just mentioned Optimus Primal from the G1 Continuity earlier.

There's a boxing match in this one. We get to see that the two robots can operate on their own. Meanwhile, Zenkaiser boards either one of them. I'm finding these new mecha battles to be rather weird (but refreshing).

Vroom starts to reveal that he seems to remember the names of Kaito's parents. One has to wonder are Kaito's parents still alive or dead all along? I'd like to hand around (or not). However, I might take a break from Super Sentai for personal reasons.

However, next week seems to be an interesting episode. I think I'd like to renew my interest in Japanese food.
