Random Weird Rant: Why I Didn't Enjoy BOTH "Beast Morphers" And "Ryusoulger", PERIOD!

 

Just because I don't like Power Rangers doesn't mean I should praise every Super Sentai as "equal". I decided to take a look back at how I do feel stupid as to why I even pretended to like Ryusoulger. I would confess that I also checked Beast Morphers out only because I found Jacqueline Scislowski rather attractive. I confess I also did the same thing with Megaforce and it was totally the most horrid Power Rangers season ever - I don't regret not finishing it! Then I decided to give Hasbro a chance with how it'd deal with Power Rangers. I felt that Super Sentai started slipping down after Go-Busters and then it temporarily had good entries with Kyuranger and Lupinranger vs. Patranger. Then, I felt it really slipped SO BAD with Ryusoulger after thinking about some older entries.

Beast Morphers came earlier before Ryusoulger. Before Ryusoulger - there was the rather cool Super Sentai Strongest Battle. I'm still willing to shout it out loud that Super Sentai Strongest Battle is better than the "Dimensions in Danger" RUSHED TV special. However, I'm saying that, there was still this anticipation that Beast Morphers may disappoint me again. Samurai was so bad, Megaforce even did much worse which may have estranged the fans. Super Sentai Strongest Battle really showed how to carry out a massive special - divide it into four episodes, give some focus, and don't try to cram it all together like "Dimensions in Danger" did. I did watch some Beast Morphers episodes and gave an open mind to see if Hasbro can truly do something about the franchise. The more I watched it - the more I felt I still preferred Go-Busters over it. I may find Zoey prettier over Yoko but Go-Busters IMHO still has the better script. It was also pretty much of the reverse of what RPM did - Beast Morphers is considerably lighter than Go-Busters.

Ryusoulger then kicked in sometime in March. At first, I tried to enjoy it with the RPG-like elements. However, I felt it didn't do the whole heroes hanging around somebody's house as good as Gingaman. I didn't think about Lost Galaxy at all while watching Gingaman. However, I soon found myself using Gingaman to bash Ryusoulger and not Lost Galaxy. If there's any series that made me drop the hype that's Lost Galaxy - it's Flashman way back in 1986! I felt that the Ryusoulgers and the place they're hanging in just don't have the similar charm way back in 1998. The Gingamen IMHO did it better where Yuuta was their connection to modern civilization. Even worse, the Ryusoulgers' sixth member, CANALO, is a pain to watch. I wonder is it because Canalo is such a f***boy or is it because the gag is badly written? Either way, Canalo isn't funny at all with all his romantic escapades. Canalo is still a real blight to Super Sentai IMHO. The character development tends to go nowhere like how Mother Eras is just a microbe in that area. I just don't feel the story is that well-developed. Take note that I don't like both Ryusoulger and Dino Fury too.

Beast Morphers still got stuck in that idiotic two-season split. I really wonder WTF why is that still going on. It's too unnecessary if you ask me! Nickelodeon sucks now! That's another good reason why I feel Power Rangers is getting worse aside from the Disney rushed seasons. Kiramager came in and IMHO - it just overshadowed Ryusoulger. The crossover movie though did present the funny scene where Canalo gets badly rejected by Yodonna then he attempts to woo Mabusheena. Too bad that he never had the chance to flirt with Sayo and Sena before getting badly rejected. I feel Zoey is prettier than both Sayo and Sena. However, Kiramager's simple shine still stood out over Beast Morphers. Hmmm so I guess Beast Morphers gets overshadowed (at least, to my POV) not just to its source material but also to Kiramager. Then again, so does Ryusoulger after I could even say that at least Kyoryuger had a more interesting dynamic. Sure, I prefer Abaranger over Kyoryuger but at least the latter still has more character. So, both Beast Morphers and Ryusoulger just don't get me to enjoy both shows. I dare say Kiramager buried them both in the enjoyment zone!

I can conclude neither show is really worth replaying when there is other stuff worth rewatching. A Go-Busters or Abaranger rewatch is very much welcome. Maybe, I could also say a Gingaman rewatch is way more welcome too though I'm more entertained by Timeranger (which I consider to be Yasuko Kobayashi's Magnum Opus). Some people can enjoy the shows. IMHO, I just didn't find them worth my time. Also, I'm not finding Zenkaiger that entertaining too. I'm still watching it but you can tell I'm not enjoying it as much as last year or other previous seasons. In fact, I feel like I might abandon Super Sentai any time soon too!
