Gozyuger: Sibling Bond Turned To Sibling Rivalry

As always, I'm NOT going ot give episode reviews. Instead, I'll just react to updates when I feel like it. This is where things get interesting. Daizyujin's emergence from the Megazord Graveyard might be a reference to both Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. IMHO Toei should've brought back the "It's Morphin' Time" tagline for the 50th anniversary -- not let it sink into obscurity in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters! It should be interesting that we have a red ranger and his estranged elder brother. Oh, wait, didn't we have that with Geki and Burai in Zyuranger? We also had that in Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger -- which is Spoiler Territory!

It's revealed that Kuon (Hisimatsu Tono) is Hoero's long-lost older brother. It doesn't become a warm reunion as Hisamitsu is currently using teh alias of Kuon. Speaking of which, Kuon can also transform into Ring Hunter Garyudo -- the one that shot Meguru Osai behind the back. Kuon plans to sway his younger brother Hoero to the dark side. Something that predictably Hoero refuses. Yes, Hoero used to look up to his older brother Hisamitsu/Kuon. However, the present bites him. 

Queen Tega June (who's currently just some giant head on a wall) is the one empowering Kuon. The end of the episode reveals that Kuon has a giant X on the back. This may suggest that Hisamitsu may be Brainwashed and Crazy -- not someone who's willingly betrayed his family members. Super Sentai usually borders on Lighter and Softer since 2001. Gone are the days when super-sadistic villains like Radiguet and Shadam plagued the rangers. The X might be Queen Tega June's mark on Kuon -- something that allows her to control Kuon. 

Right now, No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger seems to border on TV Drama than it is as a Super Sentai.
