First Impressions On Masahiro Kumade As An Anti-Hero Jerk Of A Sixth Ranger

As always, NEVER expect me to do episode reviews. I've probably exhausted myself with Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. However, I'll react to updates when I feel like it. It's because blogging is only a sideline hustle! Masahiro Kumade (whose name is meaningful, as Kuma means "bear," which I learned from Tekken) is the anti-hero. Sure, I may have taken a liking to Kinjiro Takehara (because I have the silly wish of becoming a child again, at least until No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger ends). However, I could relate to Ryugi Bakugami in another way. Ryugi's devotion to Lord Tegasword (apparently the kami-sama of this continuity) helps me get over my wish to become a child again until Gozyuger ends. So my favorite now is Ryugi!

Masahiro Kumade feels like Sun Wukong in some way. The statement, "There's God, there's Buddha, and then there's the great Kumade! I am the reforming Godness who saved the world, Gozyu Polar! Don't forget your offerings to me," makes him sound like Sun Wukong. Sun Wukong tried to take over the Heavens. A bit of modification happened with Masahiro. Masahiro won the  Universe War and was trapped for 10,000 years. The number 10,000 is a figurative phrase emphasizing huge power. Some characters get trapped for 500 or multiples of 500 years. Sun Wukong was trapped for 500 years. The Bouma Tribe in Kosoku Sentai Turboranger was trapped for 20,000 years. Rita Repulsa and her minions were trapped for 10,000 years in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

As explained, Masahiro would be someone who got disappointed at the outcome. Masahiro was trapped in stone for 10,000 years until he was rescued by BearKuma 50. This would be some kind of place where time stood still. Speaking of which, this may explain how someone can be 18 years old (physically) while having been born around 20,000 years ago. Such may be the case of Kirika in Turboranger. That would explain why Masahiro is biologically 26 but he's actually 10,026 years old!

This reminds me of some sixth rangers that are pretty much douche-y. I was expecting Masahiro to be more or less like Mikoto Nakadai/Abare Killer of Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger. Apparently, Mikoto's redemption was pretty forced by Executive Meddling. I was expecting Masahiro to be like Mikoto. Instead, it seems that Masahiro might be someone who has noble goals but isn't your typical hero. Masahiro intends to become higher than Lord Tegasword and make a Utopia Justies the Means.

For now, I wonder what character development would hot Masahiro. Would Masahiro slowly accept that it's not for him to decide things? Let's just find out!
