  The Super Sentai franchise underwent some turbulent times. Before Super Sentai - it was just "Sentai" with Himitsu Sentai Goranger and Dengekitai JAKQ . One series was so good it reached 84 episodes of overextension. The other was so bad it got rushed to only 35 episodes. I felt that JAKQ really can help me justify why I didn't like the Disney rushed Power Rangers seasons. Super Sentai nearly faced cancellation after the hiatus that happened after JAKQ which Battle Fever J became the standard bearer of a yearly Super Sentai. It was in the late 1980s when Kosoku Sentai Turboranger started to have its ratings decline (hence why the Nagare Bouma got introduced in hopes of fixing it) and the controversial Chikyu Sentai Fiveman meltdown. Fiveman was SO BAD for its time that it nearly killed the franchise. Winspector was doing good at that year though.   It's obvious that I'm losing my Toku spark one way or another. I think I might want to exit it but at least leave a bit of a mark with some good memories of the franchise. I find myself not paying much attention to Zenkaiger when watching it. However, a new article from Henshin Grid discussed about the sci-fi influence with Power Rangers . Right now, I admit that I'm currently on hiatus from watching Zenkaiger . There's been a lot of stuff that happened and it's not been easy. Lately, I find myself watching more stuff on Netflix such as I'm currently watching  Love You at the End of the World starring Ryoma Takeuchi of Kamen Rider Drive . I even feel more distant with Super Sentai the older I get. It even happened to me in my 20s. Though, it hasn't stopped me from actually giving comments on the future of Super Sentai. I even think that the royalties involved with Super Sentai might not be justifiable. I mean, I really want to ask why the Philippines still airs Kamen Rider but not Super Sentai. I feel like Super Sentai is getting rebooted  every now and then. 1979 was when "Super" got introduced into the title and 1995 was the year when Goranger became part of the Super Sentai franchise. I. 2011 was when a tsunami hit Japan some time in March. Who would've thought that in 2021 - 10 years after the same incident - something similar will happen to the Philippines? Odette struck so hard that it's left a huge wave of devastation. It's a weird coincidence or not that something tends to happen on major events? Now, I decided to watch the Gokaiger OVA movie which takes 10 years after that's before I might consider quitting Super Sentai for good. Zenkaiger is no longer interesting me in spite of the interesting new concepts. I think Donbrothers resuming the already burnt-out Toshiki Inoue may not be the best move either.  I must admit I have been skipping the 10 years after movies - except for Dekaranger . I skipped Go-Onger because well, it's really a mess after all IMHO after I've watched Caaaarrrrrannngger ! Now, I decided to check the movie with a new plot.   Just because I don't like Power Rangers doesn't mean I should praise every Super Sentai as "equal". I decided to take a look back at how I do feel stupid as to why I even pretended to like Ryusoulger . I would confess that I also checked Beast Morphers out only because I found Jacqueline Scislowski rather attractive. I confess I also did the same thing with Megaforce and it was totally the most horrid Power Rangers season ever - I don't regret not finishing it! Then I decided to give Hasbro a chance with how it'd deal with Power Rangers . I felt that Super Sentai started slipping down after Go-Busters and then it temporarily had good entries with Kyuranger and Lupinranger vs. Patranger . Then, I felt it really slipped SO BAD with Ryusoulger  after thinking about some older entries. Beast Morphers came earlier before Ryusoulger .   I confess that I'm finding Zenkaiger not as appealing as last year's Kiramager or some of the past post- Zyuohger series. Kyuranger was a fun new spin and Lupinranger vs. Patranger was an interesting twist. Though, I felt really bad after finishing Ryusoulger . I decided to watch this new age-restricted spin-off which was worth two parts. Apparently, Yodonna got so popular probably because of Nashiko Momotsuki's performance. Heck, Canalo even tried to hit on Yodonna in the Kiramager vs. Ryusoulger movie. Now, I'd like to talk about this age-restricted film (minor spoilers ahead). It takes place some time after Kiramager ended and Yodonna is in the Yodon Afterlife - something nearly reminds me of how Dragon Ball Z has Yamma separating the righteous from the wicked in the afterlife. Okay, this isn't really surprising now that this blog is now hardly updated, right? As said, it's not a news blog but me giving reactions. Not to mention, Netflix has a lot of stuff worth checking out (which may be the reason why most of the the Power Rangers series were pulled off) which is more interesting than Super Sentai. Also, making episode reviews can be rather tiring than enjoyable (again). So, here's my rather sudden update after the episodes where Hakaizer was introduced up to last Sunday's wacky Halloween episode. It's the identity of Hakaizer which may or not be surprising. The first appearance of Hakaizer had him have a weapon that ONLY Zenkaiser could use. That weapon retrieved from Hakaizer was created by Isao. I thought Hakaizer was only created as a counter for the Zenkaigers. Nope, maybe, not surprisingly, Hakaizer is actually Professor Isao Goshikara, the father of the main protagonist Kaito!
