When Super Hero Time Battles The Legacy Virus

Credit Goes To Owner

I was thinking about how it's been two years since COVID-19 aka the Legacy Virus hit the world. It became a global problem and I'd like to say that the World Health Organization (WHO) should've taken action. It was then when Super Hero Time got a hiatus due to the time when the Legacy Virus spread like crazy. One of the cast members, Rio Komiya, got hospitalized when he got infected by the Legacy Virus. Toei Ltd. even had to close their studios for safety reasons. We know how much danger it posed so there were no new episodes of either Mashin Sentai Kiramager or Kamen Rwhy ider Zero-One at that point. That's why both shows ended up getting rush-paced later on. That's why there were no summer episodes. That's why it was hard to do a beach episode if the beaches were SHUT DOWN for the moment. That's why we never saw Sayo, Sena, and Yodonna in a bikini beach battle - something I wish happened in Kiramager vs. Ryusoulger movie to further add insult to injury that idiotic Canalo.

What I did during the hiatus was kind of dumb. I'd like to write about how real-life work was affected. It was something when tenant payment had to be halved. I could actually remember watching Koreanovelas on both Netflix and the fan-site Kissasian. I also decided to rewatch the X-Men: The Animated Series' "Time Fugitives Arc". It was the two-parter where Apocalypse unleashed the deadly Legacy Virus to cause a war between mutants and humans - something he deemed was necessary for his rise to power. The anti-mutant riots that emerged were very similar to discrimination against East Asians when the real-life Legacy Virus hit the USA.

The X-Men comics did have the Legacy Virus leak from the laboratory. It was psionically opened by Gordon Lefferts, an assistant to Mr. Sinister. The empty canister allegedly contained the 2,000 years of the Summers' DNA material. Instead, it had the Legacy Virus. Gordon later had the flu and DIED FROM IT. It turned out that the Legacy Virus was harming mutants. Later, a third strain also hit humans as well after Infectia died from it. It seemed to fit perfectly with Stryfe's plan to start a war that would eliminate the weakest and bring only the strongest.

Kagaku Sentai Dynaman did somehow predict it in 1983 huh? Well, Chodenshi Bioman did have Doctor Man plan to eradicate humanity with the Devil Fungus. Though, the Dynaman episode had Mammoth Evolution (the strongest beast of the non-cyber monsters) break into a laboratory and unleash an unknown virus into the world. It was quite a weird episode really. Too bad that Dr. Hokuto isn't real since we really needed a cure and FAST. The Dynamen did manage to stop the spread.

The filming did eventually resume. However, the damage was done. I even felt that Kiramager vs. Ryusoulger wouldn't happen. Thankfully it did and apparently, the cast members were all vaccinated against the Legacy Virus. The crossover had really good fight scenes done by the main cast. Right now, we have the Omicron variant. I had Omicron a few weeks ago. Thankfully, I've been vaccinated against the Legacy Virus. I just wonder though if the anti-vaxxers are enjoying their stay in the ICU (such as a certain J*** M******) if they're ever in the ICU.

What are your memories of how you dealt with the Legacy Virus hindering Super Hero Time

  1. You forgot to mention that Daimaou Kousaka a.k.a. Pikotaro (Muryou Hakataminami) of Mashin Sentai Kiramager, Takuya Satou, the voice actor of Vroon/ZenkaiVroon and Ikue Sakakibara (Yatsude Goshikida) in Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger were also positive of COVID-19 earlier this year. Plus, Kohaku Shida (Haruka Kitou/OniSister) of Avataro Sentai DonBrothers is also COVID-19 Positive just last week. On those two Zenkaiger stars, this was happened just before the show was about to end while on Shida's case, this was happened in the middle of DonBrothers Production. Will the latter one be postponing the productions or will Shida be replaced again by Hiyori Katada (Marina Maeda/OniSister II)? As of now, the COVID-19 cases in Japan has reached 13.4 Million. This is due to the Omicron B.5 Variant.

    1. Hi thanks for the information. Right now, I'm getting caught up with Korean stuff than Japanese stuff. Again, remember this blog is but a hobby.
