I'll do another villain spotlight. Hee hee. So anyway, Long is another character that has entered into my favorite villain list. He's a scheming, manipulative schemer who could actually be considered by some more dangerous than Radiguet or Shaddam, or maybe even planet destroyers like Bazoo and Vulgyre, in the cosmos of the natural and the supernatural. So what's the deal? Many say he is immortal and can't be killed so he's a real threat that has been lurking around the world. Although he only started appearing in episode 23 but even his not-so-long stay was more menacing. How cruel is he? To start with, he doesn't care about anybody but himself, he's a total snob. He has a murderous history where he actually killed the families of Rio and Jan, hoping to use them. Rio was driven to the dark side, Jan became a Gekiranger, but he did use Jan's father Dan and trapped him into his service- the same way Star Wars' very own Sith lord Palpatine di...

It has crossed my mind just recently with Super Sentai (as well as Tokusatsu) for the foreign market. Before Zyuranger was adapted into Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season One, Super Sentai was being dubbed into different languages- English, Filipino, French and Latin. To reduce the violence, some scenes deemed inappropriate (like gunshot wounds) were deleted without hiding the fact that the enemy died. The dubbing went until Jetman, which I believe was another choice for what Saban wanted to become Power Rangers. In the Philippines, they saw dubbed versions of Goranger, JAKQ, Goggle V (unfinished), Bioman, Maskman (unfinished), Turboranger (unfinished), Fiveman and the last was Jetman. After that the MMPR craze went, ignoring Super Sentai (which is a BAD idea, why not get both?). Then again, grab little at a time. Haim Saban was interested in dubbing Super Sentai if I'm not wrong. In Goseiger 27, we can see the moral lesson of backbiting is deadly. That's what the enemy is taking advantage of with the monster known as Jogon of the Ningyo. He has the ability to put seashells into people's ears to make people think somebody's backbiting at them. Also in this episode, Bladerun is released with a warning. The monster intends to replace Bladerun. Agri/Gosei Black becomes the victim in this episode. However he is able to overcome this no matter how difficult it is. I just find it amusing how he beats up Kinggon as well.

Dairanger- it just deserves it nomination during the 90s. Why? For one, it has a rather interesting theme, being the first Asian-based theme Sentai while most Sentai series were not restricted to culture in terms of themes. The rangers: The rangers were pretty interesting, in fact some thought they were more interesting than Jetman's cast. Why? They simply had a series of serious stories that connects with one another as it progresses. Ryou's past for example causes the other rangers to sympathize with him especially with his father Zhang Liao. Daigo's love story with Kujaku was one of the most tragic moments IMO I felt more tears for it than Ryu and Rie's from Jetman. Lin well, she has had her own one shot relationship with Takamura which she had truly loved him and him, her. Shouji was more of the truly enlightened hero and as for Kazu, I feel he's kind of underdeveloped. Then again, no Sentai is perfect. :-P So there's some kind of controversy ...

Sigh... I can't forgive myself for deleting the Shinkenger recaps in the past even if the videos were removed from Youtube for copyright issues. :-( In Shinkenger there were two battlizers- the Super Mode and the Hyper Mode. Unlike in Power Rangers where only the red ranger used the Super Mode, they all took turns in using like the Acceltector in Boukenger. Sadly, Genta was never able to go super. Takeru/Shinken Red was the first to use it being the leader which happened in Act 24. With this, he harnessed the power of fire at greater heights to defeat Gozunagumo. Later he needed to be in this mode to use the Mougyu Bazooka without risking himself in Act 38. He was however able to beat Juzo without this since the equipment was with Kaoru (who was also able to use it) that time. Naturally being the leader, he uses it most of the time. Ryunosuke/Shinken Blue used super mode next as Takeru gave it to him when Takeru had to do battle with Juzo. His first usage was in Act 26 where...

There are a lot more little kids where that came from. Whether they be Sentai or PR fanboys, we'll never stop them. If we can all make blogs involving creating peace between the shows, we'll put an end to them soon. Yup that's true. Based on my experience as a child, I can remember how I insist something is better and a fight starts because of it. Remember a little fire can destroy an entire forest. Super Sentai fans and Power Rangers fans who were usually children fought to which is better. Children are easily carried away into useless battles (that's why I call war freaks childish) like this and with children having Internet knowledge, I guess they're a major pain. And right, most of these are surrounded by cultural biases and colonial mentality. ...

I was intrigued by Fantasy Leader's similar article , I'd be writing what I thought about Sentai's cancellations and revivals: After Changeman, Flashman, Maskman and Liveman- there came the not so popular Turboranger. True it isn't as epic as Hirosa Soda's previous series but it was still an awesome series. Awesome to the point it was rumored Saban wanted to pay Toei to adapt Turboranger to be the first Power Rangers series. Fiveman was unfortuantely Hirosa Soda's worst work. Why? The villains weren't very unique, well it was kind of watered down and the villains were merely recycled from previous works, in fact I felt like it was a Bioman rip-off and more. So watered down that some of my peers preferred Maskman and Bioman instead. I thought it was pretty interesting. However for some reason, the idea of a sibling team went to much better series like Gogo V and Magiranger (my personal favorite). I enjoyed this as a child though. :-P After Hirosa Soda...
