Flashman's 27th Episode Somewhat Predicted Red Mask's Future

Image
Before Kazunori Inaba would become Red Mask -- he did have a guest role in Flashman with a person known as Ryu Wakasa, a boxer who runs a ramen shop. Flashman was a year before Maskman. He would have a reunion with Blue Flash's actor Yasuhiro Ishiwata when the said actor would play as a monster in Maskman episode 34. The episode had him side by side with Kihachiro Uemura (Dai/Green Flash) who would later play as Fiveman's later arrival villain Chevalier. Dai himself was interested in learning boxing. It was almost a preview of Maskman's one technique known as the God hand fist -- something that Maskman didn't use that much probably because it was too cheesy and powerful! I love how the two did some training scenes. Was it that the writers wanted to test Inaba on whether or not he was worthy of becoming their next red ranger in Maskman? His role here was that he was temporarily changed into a monster but lived to tell the tale about it. That's strange cons...

Before Maskman's Princess Ial -- There Was Flashman's One-Shot Mess Traitor Shibel!

Image
The 1980s era of Super Sentai may get you to realize that there's a lot of guest-starring for stars who'd appear in the next season or from a previous season. You can think of how Kazunori Inaba appeared in Flashman episode 27 -- way before he'd become my first favorite red ranger Takeru! Episode 40 did prepare one actress namely Mina Asami for her next role as the Igam twins -- both Prince/Princess Igam and Princess Ial. Strangely, the episode has her character known as Shibel help out the red ranger Jin! Shibel's guest role was as a traitor in Mess. She was raised with the Alien Hunters. It's not stated where she comes from in the lost galaxy of Flashman. Sir Kaura finds a book (which belongs to Jin) and tosses it. We also see a flashback of who could be Jin's mother -- sadly she was never fleshed out and only Sara found out her family. Jin sees that book which is a familiar story called The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde. So how did aliens even learn to re...

Ryusoulger 25: Creon's Dance Madness

Image
Well, is it not the time for another Ryusoulger review? It looks like I'm going to have to come up with a compromise for my planned slowdown. It's because I'm having some other stuff caught up with such as Kamen Rider Zero-One may be getting into me or just do it like Dryed Mangoez does -- at his own pace. Now, it's time for a rather weird episode. Dance time! Now, I decided to drop my fake Englishman act for my upcoming Ryusoulger posts, unlike my previous posts to give myself smoother thinking! Note, this episode is written by Kaori Kaneko who's also the writers of Lupinranger vs. Patranger episodes 8, 11, 18, 29, 26, 33, and 34.  The episode starts with Koh, Asuna, and Melt trying to do their dance in-show. Somehow, when a dance number happens in the credits of Super Sentai (and the trend was somehow popularized last 2004 with Dekaranger) -- it's the actors and not the characters who are dancing. Since when did we remember the Dekarangers, Gekirangers...

Ryousoulger 24: Wedding Bells For Canaro?

Image
It's time for another Ryusoulger episode now is it not? This week seemeth that a wedding is coming or not? This episode is written by Naruhisa Arakawa though I think the guy is starting to burn out too. This episode focuseth on the running gag of Canaro wanting a bride. Will he succeed? Read to find out! The beginning focuseth on a girl who really looks like Satomi Hirose of Hurricanger. I almost thought it was Satomi Hirose except it is the actress Kaede Aono. The guest star's character is named Mao. Did they name her after Mao Inoue who played a younger Tsurihime in Kakuranger? Canaro showeth up and thinketh he has found a bride or has he? He shows up some of his moves here. Meanwhile, the Ryusoulgers and Ui are still thinking of Naohisa's comedy attempts. Is this episode written in connection to Kamen Rider Zero-One's Asumu as a failed comedian ? I don't find the jokes funny here in contrast to the rest of the show. I'm getting the vibes of Bio...

Ryusoulger 23: It's Time For A Bandai Merchandise Clip Show

Image
It's time for another Ryusoulger review. Right now, I can't make up my mind on whether or not I'm taking a break from said show. But tentatively, I might take my break on September 20, 2019, up to the time the K-Drama Vagabond ends. That means just don't expect my reaction on Ryusoulger updates OR just expect them to be slow. This week isn't that interesting for me but maybe for the kiddos. Personally, these recaps can be a nice break OR I simply don't care. I decided to watch in hopes of catching up with the show's mythologies! The episode beginneth with Creon and Wizeru. Wizeru talketh about his Menasaurs. However, Wizeru has a really diabolical plan. He doth mention Sun Tzu's Art of War. But as said, this guy tends to lack an intelligent plan that could've killed the Ryusoulgers but the show must go on! Bits of the show's lore are explained here. Koh does mention that he could hear the Ryu Souls. They are told that when a Ryu Sou...

Ryusoulger 22: Cherishing The Memory Of The Dead

Image
Well, it's time for another Ryusoulger episode and I can't be too certain IF I'd want to take my short break from said show. It looks like some interesting folklore is brewing. Maybe, I can continue watching the show BUT at a slower pace. Now, last week did feature the return of Master Pink, Tankjoh and Ui's mother. Now, this week cometh to an epic conclusion. The Necromancer Menasaur has been responsible for the switching process. The dead return to life at the cost of the living. Okay, that's going to be a very creepy scenario. If I had to sacrifice one person to see my dead relative back then no thanks! Koh gets caught in another dark dimension to fight Tankjoh. This almost feels like a throwback to Metal Heroes in the Space Sheriff Trilogy and B-Fighter. There's really some nightmare fuel here even if Super Sentai has become more child-friendly since 2001. The Light Raptor (who is female) showeth up and freeth Koh from that dimension. Then...
