  I decided to do some irregular-paced watching of Zenkaiger . Finally, we've hit good 22 episodes and I'm going to share my thoughts. Warning: There will be some spoilers ahead and some mish-mash of positive-negative opinions. Again, take note that just because I dislike Power Rangers that I'm going to say that Super Sentai is perfect . So, what are my thoughts on the series up to this point? The heroes For a start, this was basically the creation of an unorthodox, not typical Super Sentai team that would resemble the long-plugged out (but somehow, never forgotten) Metal Hero series . If anything, I think Metal Hero finally met its cancellation because of the revival of the Kamen Rider series in the 2000s . Any old-schooler who watches new school shows might immediately have a connection with the Metal Hero franchise. In my case, I've seen almost all the Metal Hero series but I'm yet to really watch Blue SWAT , B-Fighter , B-Fighter Kabuto , Kabutack , and Robotack...

Super Sentai logic is always subjected to superhero logic, right? There's a lot of weird science going on. Most Super Sentai villains aren't really that smart either as  most of their plans are meant to be incredibly absurd . Just think that the villains in the James Bond franchise ended up getting the honor of having the trope called Bond Villain Stupidity. The Super Sentai villains (or most Toku villains and superhero villains) are usually carriers of such stupidity. Who can remember Cobra Commander in the G.I.Joe cartoon cook up really stupid plans or when Serpentor in the second season is even more stupid than his predecessor? Then we can notice also the trend that the low-tier henchmen or villain grunts in superhero shows can also be THAT STUPID too. Not to mention they also do get a lot of strange stuff that just don't make sense (and somehow cleverly written) just to keep Super Sentai going. I mean, aren't some stuff in Super Sentai supposed to NOT MAKE SENSE? N...

  It's really no doubt that I tried to hide how much  I ended up disliking the Power Rangers franchise . My reasons have been such as the overextension of Mighty Morphin' (which makes the rumor it was supposedly more popular than Zyuranger in Japan a lie, it was Jetman and Dairanger that actually overshadowed it) into three seasons (which made it REALLY PAINFUL to rewind), how Zeo ended up just a continuation in contrast to how Ohranger is an entirely new series, I even think Turbo itself really just got messy especially with a midseason change, I think Space is overrated even if it did save the franchise, the pacing is usually rushed due to the seasons having less than a year run in the past, the Disney's very rushed seasons, and how Nickelodeon is forcibly splitting it into TWO SEASONS when it should be just one. Need I mention that I also find the use of Super Sentai fight footage and mixing it with their own fight footage awkward? I mean, think how the out-of-suit Ameri...

Sorry really for not updating this blog as much. As said, the blog is just a hobby and I find myself slowly withdrawing from Super Sentai (while I want to check out the upcoming Kamen Rider Revice  - the first dinosaur-themed Kamen Rider) so be ready for this blog to get outdated again. Just think I even miss out on writing about this one. The upcoming crossover between Kamen Rider Saber and Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger is called Super Hero Senki (Super Hero Chronicle) which Shinichiro Shirakura stated that the crossover is the last crossover between the two franchises . Maybe not, but I hope Shirakura brings the idea to Banpresto and please Japan - STOP MAKING STUFF EXCLUSIVE ONLY FOR JAPAN! Moving on... certain characters are indeed returning for the movie. Recent updates from Nihonhero reveal that Fumiya Takahashi (Aruto Hiden in Kamen Rider Zero One ), So Okuno (from last year's Mashin Sentai Kiramager ), and Shogo Suzuki (Chiaki Tani from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger ) are returning . ...

Kiramager vs. Ryuosoulger was a film that I felt was impossible when the Legacy Virus hit through last 2020. Who can forget when Kiramager and Kamen Rider Zero-One  entered the Legacy Virus hiatus ? Now, I decided to check out this movie and if it was worth it. Sure, I admit now that I can't rewatch Ryusoulger any longer (well, Abaranger IMHO will always be the best Dinosaur Sentai). However, I checked this show out for Kiramager which was a fun, improved version of ToQGer  IMHO. The movie had one weird plot of a movie that could destroy the world. Yodonna's latest scheme is to create a movie and she's trapped most of the Ryusoulgers in it. What's amusing to see is that people get caught in this haunted theater house. It seems to be a watered-down version of a haunted theater house in some horror flicks. Granted, Yodonheim IS horror-themed even if the guys don't really have much nightmare fuel - maybe except for Emperor Yodon. Yodonna can be scary though. It does ge...

  With the upcoming AGE-RESTRICTED Yodonna spin-off - I decided I would write this post for fun. I didn't want to write it last year and I was actually fine with Nashiko Momotsuki as Yodonna. Nashiko was actually the villain Shuka in the GARO Versus Road movie. However, I felt a more experienced actress such as either Nao Nagasawa or Ayumi Kinoshita could've done the part. My pick also came from a GARO movie and I want to emphasize her a lot... My personal thoughts were that Sayaka Akimoto should've been Yodonna. There are times established celebrities play up as important characters in Super Sentai. Goro Ibuki and Hayato Tani both played mentor roles to their fellow Takerus. The late Munemaru Koda and the late Soga Machiko do more than just Tokusatsu while playing recurring villains. I'm not saying that Nashiko didn't do well - she still did. However, I felt Sayaka's experience in martial arts, acting, and her role as Biku in the Garo spin-off movie. Her role...

Well, sorry really if I'm not giving Zenkaiger updates because of personal stuff. I'm watching Zenkaiger but I'm doing it at my own pace. Heck, I'm watching some new stuff in Netflix and there's also personal stuff to take care off! I do feel the need to watch it at my own pace or maybe I'll soon drop it. I only react to updates - NOT GIVE THEM!  So, I thought about what Nihon Hero revealed about an age-restricted spin-off film . Granted, actress Nashiko Momotsuki appeared in GARO VERSUS ROAD which isn't a movie for children. I guess it's only normal to have an age-restricted film, right? The age restriction also made me think SOME bold stars did star in Super Sentai. For example, both  Turboranger  and  Carranger  had a bold star namely Kanako Kishi (Jarmin) and Rika Nanase (Zonette).
