King-Ohger 14: Was Spider Kumonos The Emissary Of Hell 15 Years Ago?

Image
This week's episode of King-Ohger starts another introduction for Spider Kumonos. Is Spider Kumonos the emissary of Hell that started the Wrath of the Gods around 15 years ago? There's a mysterious figure who's not yet revealed. All that's known was that he (or possibly she) killed Himeno's parents. My only WMG is that Desnarak VIII was the murderer all along. However, it's very easy to pin the blame on Jeramie Brasserie because he had control of the Shugods trio via God Tarantula.  The episode starts with a big spandex fight. Okay, scream all you want that's not spandex. Sure, I wanted to see the cast do more suitless fights here. However, some suitless scenes are meant more to fit into the plot than to display the main cast fighting. Here, Himeno transforms into Kamakiri Ohger and Jeramie into Spider Kumonos. I do find this fight scene rather intense. I really am scared to confront Himeno at this point. Spider Kumonos later escapes to Gokkan which may or m...

King-Ohger Episode 13: The Emissary Of Hell Hit By An Ill-Timed Fart Joke

Looks like Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger's possible status as a celebratory season ain't gonna stop . I personally wanted to be more irregular as I react to updates. However, it seems that Jeramie Brasserie (or maybe, I should call him Jeremy in future posts) has become a magical version of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The title almost suggests that Spider Kumonos is an emissary from Hell - the very title that Japanese Spider-Man gave himself! The only thing missing are some machine gun actions.  It was nice to see some history lessons. Okay, we've got the Kingdom of N'Kosopa having been bullied by Shugoddom since it started. I guess the late Corsus Hastie hasn't been a good king either - explaining why Yanma has a distrust with Racules. Racules apparently has inherited his dad's conceited personality. It's revealed that N'Kosopa rose up with a single computer from a FREAKING JUNKYARD. What kind of sorcery and science is that? I could remember Junk ...

"King-Ohger" Episode 12: Toei's New Spider-Man?

Image
I wrote about whether or not Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger was a celebratory season . Granted, some shows are celebrating a milestone anniversary. For instance, the most obvious is that Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is celebrating its 30th year. We also have Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog in the 25th year. Extra note that both Seijuu Sentai Gingaman and Power Rangers in Space are in their 25th year too. Speaking of 25th year -- I think the series is making blatant references to Man in the Iron Mask . I guess the series has decided to bring up that weird gem called Japanese Spider-Man (Supaida-Man) in its 45th year along with Tosshou Daimos .  How does this happen? Well, read to find out what I'm thinking right now... The origins of Jeramie Brasserie are that hard to understand. Even in a world where fairy tale physics exists - one needs to investigate the claims of Jeramie right? I did feel Rita Repulsa errr Kaniska could've said, "You're giving me such a headache." ...

King-Ohger Episode 11 And More Of My Concerns With The Series

Image
I guess I'm just plain bored so I decided to write this random review. Sure, I'm going to do this very irregularly. I prefer to react to updates than to give them. I was glad that Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger took a radical direction with an RPG-like, non-existent world that take place in Modern Japan yet again. I could say Kamen Rider Saber did give a breath of fresh air by having several events take place in Wonderland even if Modern Japan exists. Here, it takes a big leap from Saber by not having Modern Japan at all.  How the sixth ranger may affect the story Right now, we've got a new character named Jeramie Brasserie. This reminds me of how one of Chikyu Sentai Fiveman's villains was intentionally given a FRENCH name - CHEVALIER. In France, a Brasserie is also a type of French restaurant. This reminds me of how the cafe in Kaito Sentai Lupiranger vs. Keisatsu Sentai Patranger was named Cafe Bistrot Jurer. We also had Enter in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters speak gratuitous ...

Super Sentai's Usage Of Tokyo Is The Center Of the Universe Trope

Image
I guess a major anniversary for Super Sentai will always get followed by a major anniversary for Mighty Morphin' , right? I may prefer Super Sentai and dislike Power Rangers . However, both shows tend to have a lot of stuff that wouldn't make sense in real life. Bleeding sparks? Teleportation? Combining Megazords? A giant monster attacks almost every week? How in the world is the city repaired after a giant robot battle? I'd like to discuss Tokyo Is The Center of the Universe. Yes, I'm talking about that strange oddity that occurs in every Super Sentai series. Almost every single Super Sentai takes place in Modern Japan in one way or another. Yeah, that's probably the biggest reason why some people just want to force all Super Sentai into one timeline . It's only normal that production teams want to save money right? Power Rangers has clearly followed the trope by replacing Japan with the Greater Los Angeles Area or the fictional Angel Grove. Before Super Sent...

King-Ohger 9-10: Can One Rogue Prince And Four Rulers Work Together?

Image
Okay, be ready for me to give both positive and negative views about Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger . I'm watching shows at a very irregular basis so that's why I don't update this blog as often. Heck, I even wanted to drop Super Sentai because Kikou Sentai Zenkaiger wasn't as well-implemented in spite of creative liberties. Episodes 9-10 would seem to introduce more of the needed teamwork. Gira has become a wanted fugitive. King Racules' approval rating is somewhat zig-zagged. In Shugoddom, he's got the adoration of blind masses. There's even that fat f*** who makes Bulk and Skull look like geniuses. Maybe, Bulk and Skull would've figured out that Racules is Obviously Evil. Racules wants to recover Gira's body. I think Racules still has doubts Gira survived their Trial by Combat. Though, Racules also wants to get the power from Gira's body. Now, if only there were more clues as to how Gira's kidnapping happened. Was Racules always that evil? I cou...
