I'd like to wish Tetsuo Kurata a happy 42nd Birthday. This may be a Super Sentai blog but still... I was a Kamen Rider fan back then. :-P

Kamen Rider seems to influence Super Sentai to a certain extent. Like how? Well here are some: In some series, men wore jackets and rode motorcycles like the Kamen Riders in civilian form. Clearly proof Toei is porting ideas between franchises. One may also observe that both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai have Anime hairstyles as of present. Bioman's Peebo looks like a Kamen Rider (crossed with C3P0) except he's a robot. The monsters are just obvious. For example, the Destron monsters apparently influenced both Dynaman and Jetman primarily and other series secondarily. Animal-based monsters are the most common. Well if I elaborated this, it'll be too long an article. Boukenger's Gaja in some way, IMO seems to have some shapely resemblances to the Great Leader of Kamen Rider (the pointed hat anyone) in the very first series aside from the Fuhrer of Goranger. Also the name Gordom may be a tribute to the name GORGOM in Kamen Rider Black. The Questers kind of look like...

I downloaded some of Fantasy Leader's new pictures on Super Sentai. Sigh. Sometimes being busy at work and managing other blogs can be tiresome. Anyway here they are: A picture of some of the red rangers after their Sentai days. Some of them are the seniors and I say, some of them can't be recognized anymore due to changes of lifestyle as well as age has affected their appearances. Megumi Mori, aging but still kind of pretty. I wonder if she and Nao Nagasawa are friends?

It's just sad to say that Bladerun had potential... but sigh... he meets his end. In this episode, Bladerun meets his end in a treachery vs. treachery battle where he plans to get the Erurei box and Kinggon does get his revenge- that's by using him as a shield against the Goseigers. I kind of find it interesting to how Kinggon isn't as dumb as we think he is also, he took the Bibi Bug Hive and uses it to enlarge Bladerun who meets his demise. You can tell at times I don't like a series that much with such a short summary. :-P

Power Rangers wasn't the only franchise with really muscular men. Well there were some hunky muscled males in Super Sentai. Here are they: Ryou of Dairanger was among a few Sentai males to have really big muscles and be that good looking. He fought topless in episode 27 and was topless in episode 47. By judging at his build, I think he can definitely beat other red rangers in an out of suit combat IMO. Also, I think he can definitely beat Cole Evans in hand-to-hand combat both out of suit too even if his muscles are not that big being a certified true martial artist. Tetsu Aira was one of those few Sentai males who had really big muscles. I felt like he really beats Tommy Oliver off the scale. Oh yeah, I felt like Jasmine Reimon should have been the one to have gotten that unfortunate incident above. Gou Fukami of Gekiranger also has huge muscles. He was featured topless in Lesson 24. However he's not as good looking as the Jungle Fury hunks. Takeru Shib...

Thanks to DancingAlienDude's comment saying: ( Post here ) Your first point kinda explains the fact why not many females like Super Sentai and why white females don't find most Asian men attractive. But that's beside the point. I also found Power Rangers male heroes more memorable than the Sentai male heroes. Not only because of the nostalgia, but it seems like the appeal of the Power Rangers heroes seem to capture the audience differently than of Sentai's. Hmmm... thanks for the rather enlightening comment. It made me think that Sentai seems to attracts males more than females. Here's what I think: Sentai's girls are really that hot these days. I have to admit more Sentai girls are hotter than Power Rangers' girls (the guys are the ones that's hot on the other side) although I still find Kimberly Hart a little hotter than Jasmine Reimon. In Boukenger, if there were any two of the Negative Syndicates who fought each other more often, it was with Gaja and Ryuon. Their rivalry began in Task 2 when Ryuon was after the Gordom brain, but Gaja being a sneaky wizard always had something on his sleeve. He trapped Ryuon and thus began their hostilities. Of course, the hostilities are never without a price as whenever the two met, it was ALWAYS involving treachery. So what's the deal? Gaja had a sharp, sarcastic attitude like Tranza and Ryuon, well he was a major Sentai SOB like Radiguet (but to a lesser extent), which he was always more cruel. Gaja was more on the manipulative, sarcastic side while Ryuon was revenge-obsessed. Both villains were insane nonetheless. Ryuon like Radiguet always held a deeper grudge. So they did work together in Tasks 10-11 but Gaja managed to steal the secret of Leon Giordana's engine for himself, which of course angers Ryuon.
