Tenmaranger Visits Red Mask

Image
Well here's a pretty interesting nostalgic picture for Maskman and Dairanger fans.  Both teams used some form of Aura power, now it's not surprising they're together in this picture. XD

Enemy Fighter Jets in Super Sentai

Image
Some enemies do have the nasty habit of using fighter jets. Enjoy! Black Cross had both Condors and Battras piloted by the Zolders. Crime used the Devil Shark Fighters piloted by the Crimers. Egos used the Egos fighters piloted by the Cutmen. The Vader Clan used the Vader Fighters piloted by the Dastlers.

Top Ten Things I Find to Be the Weirdest Plots in Super Sentai

Image
In response to Henshin Grid's Top Ten Weirdest Plots for Power Rangers , here's for Super Sentai.  Sentai has a lot of weird stuff like suspended animation and synthetic beings that immediately recognize their masters but these are for me the weirdest ever: 10. Dr. Man's backstory.  Yup I find this really weird how this guy could actually experiment on himself and become so rapidly old.  Yup, what is funnier is why in the world would the Big Three think of him as a robot even when he has already mentioned to Mason he created him. When he reconstructed himself, I found it even weirder how in the world did he become completely mechanical? 9. The clay Gorma plot.  I do find this plot very weird in Dairanger considering how these clay models actually contain the memories of the original, which is again left unexplained why it happened.  Even so, I find Dairanger's finale weird considering that Shadam crumbled into clay leaving more mysteries unexplained. 8....

My Reaction to Tokusatsu Shows Going to America Via Toei Japan Channel

Image
Well as said Super Sentai and Power Rangers are culturally different so that's why Toei as a whole permits Saban to create Power Rangers.  However looking at the article shared by Orends Range ( read here ) via a pay channel.  In my case though, I wonder how feasible this plan by Toei is and whether or not Saban Brands should be involved in this project.  So far it will be made by Internet Pay TV which I think may need some real considerations on whether or not this project is feasible.  So it's nice to give American fans of Tokusatsu a legitimate way to watch Super Sentai though I do have my other option to consider that are DVD release (with subs like how Media Blasters released Golion on DVD) or paid download release to get the fans to watch legitimately.  I don't know how to react to this pay TV thing either. Meanwhile I just thought that Nickelodeon and Toei could work together for this one.  So for the DVD releasing DVDs not broadcasting them. ...

Super Sentai Seasons I Could Also Count as "Experimental Seasons" After Goranger and JAKQ

Image
Super Sentai for me felt like I could count were also experimental seasons because they tested a lot of new stuff. Here are they and don't worry, I love some of them so much while the others are also still memorable: Battle Fever J- It started the Super Sentai trend but later, we see Goranger and JAKQ were added. It was the first series to introduce a giant robot which was made to fight against the giant version of the monsters of the week. Denzi Sentai Denjiman can be viewed as a draft season for me because it introduced what would be the "standard" suits for Super Sentai although this season didn't introduce the spandex. Stuff that were introduced were namely the transforming robot, enlarging monsters and the evil queen concept in Hedrian played by Soga Machiko. Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan- This was probably another one. Fantasy Leader stated this was an overrated season . I haven't seen Sun Vulcan completely but I'd like to. For one, this was the only ...

Is Super Sentai's Direction Taking For the Worse?

Image
Here's just my thoughts on the Super Sentai franchise as of late with the for better or for worse.  Now moving on... and here's those series I thought had turns for the worse to worst... Well people know I don't hate Go-onger (but I don't love it either) but I felt like Go-onger in its weaker side was too focused on gimmicks, blatant stupidity of characters (to the point Hant sometimes annoys me the same way Patrick Star does in Spongebob Squarepants) and toys and some episodes are "uncalled for".  Like I watch this series so I can get a good laugh at the parody nature of this whole series but Go-onger sometimes feels in a way really cheesy and most of the characters are too stupid and unbalanced like it were a Nicktoons sitcom.  Yet this show is a guilty pleasure for me since I love its blatant silliness but otherwise, the whole way the story is executed in a very stupid manner rather than well-planned comedy then we get serious themes out of nowhere that ...

Role of Women in Super Sentai Teams

Image
One of the reasons why I think Super Sentai has female fans is because of the active role of women.  Now to take a look at them... Well Super Sentai started introducing female henshin ever since day one in Goranger.  The only one that lacked a female member was Sun Vulcan.  So far, the role of women in Super Sentai has evolved and had some "points in common" with the male ones. While most Super Sentai teams in the past had only one female, having more than one female concept was added in Bioman.  Bioman introduced the first female yellow ranger who at first was pictured to be the badass type of lady, in fact I thought Jun could beat Shiro in a fair fight plus she had a lot more stunts than the rest.  Mika was the prototype who sadly was written off due to Yuki Yajima's sudden departure. Sayaka Nagisa was introduced as the first female white ranger.  Later to follow were Kaori in Jetman and Tsurihime in Kakuranger.  She was introduced more for ...
