Doctor Man and Him Being Human

Image
In Bioman I guess some people already figured out he was human (while maybe believing the Big Three were cyborgs, not full robots).  Now it was this revelation in Bioman that didn't really linger until the finale but was revealed mid-season. In Bioman episode 19, we get the first hint that Doctor Man was a Japanese scientist and a human being.  How?  In the beginning after Mason intended to probably blow up the Biomen while releasing some explosive gas into the air, Prince arrives.  Prince declares himself to be Dr. Man's son after Mason threw Mettzler's fencer towards him, which the scratch made him look like he was human.  Well, Dr. Man then introduces the Prince to the Big Three as his son and heir, which Mason thinks, "I didn't know Dr. Man was a human." and Dr. Man's deteriorating condition showed he was really human.  When Mason saw Prince design his own robot, he exclaimed that Prince is truly Dr. Man's son being able to build a robot his ag...

A Rundown on My Thoughts on Super Sentai Villain Monster of the Week Plots

Image
In Super Sentai, one of the many things I enjoy about it are the rather preposterous schemes that villains do in their efforts to either take over the world or to destroy the Super Sentai.  Here's how I can categorize them... The standard begin the invasion plot- Super Sentai apparently releases a monster without the rather flamboyant schemes that make Super Sentai enjoyable.  So the bad guys release a monster to attack the Earth only to be stopped by the Super Sentai. Focused on destroying the team alone- Sometimes some monsters were created to focus on destroying the Sentai team.  Juice Jigen in Jetman was created to divide the Jetmen so they can be easily defeated. Things are getting desperate so get the strongest possible monster- This kinda happens sometimes in later series.  In Turboranger, we have Rehda using the Chomajin Bouma to try and defeat the Turborangers after the deaths of Zimba and Jarmin.  In Jetman, we have Semimaru as an example. ...

Hirohisa Soda's Lead Villains Who Could Have Won if It Wasn't for Something That Seemed Insignificant

Image
I have noticed there were some common stuff in Hirohisa Soda's writings.  So pretty much he did recycle but they turn out either good or better.  Here are they: In Changeman we have Bazoo fearing the Memory Doll.  In the finale, the Memory Doll managed to work itself in leading the Changemen to where the real Bazoo was when it was revealed he was a gigantic living planet that eats other planets. In Maskman, we have Emperor Zeba.  While he does seem invincible to the Maskmen, in fact it seemed insignificant if the Igam twins Igam and Ial will unite.  However it was revealed in the close finale that only when the twin sisters unite, Zeba can be defeated.  The Maskmen were able to destroy him because of the Igam twins. In Fiveman, we see that Vulgyre himself even destroyed the Max Magma.  While it seemed stupid he was afraid of some flowers, however because the Sidon flowers were the first to sprout life in the very planet that he destroyed, he ha...

The Role of the Sidon Flowers in Fiveman

Image
Well Fiveman was one season I could tag to the Sidon flowers which came from start to end.  So pretty much, it was a mystery to why Zone attacked the Sidonian flowers.  All we knew was that Zone destroyed planets and sucked life out of them for its supposed ruler Empress Meadow to become immortal.  Meadow once turned a Sidon flower into a a dangerous flower monster.  It wasn't clear yet that time to the purpose of the Sidon flower in the series. In Fiveman episode 46, later we discover that the Sidon flowers could actually harm Vulgyre.  What pretty surprised me was that after the Sidon flowers release their energy at the Vulgyre was that Empress Meadow was nothing more than an illusion used by Vulgyre.  Vulgyre later forcibly combines Dordora and Zaza (which made me believe they would appear as a half and half but fortunately not).  Rose Dolgin the result of the combination of the two was sent to convert the Sidon flowers into red roses so no...

Clarification: Why Power Rangers Isn't Fake

Image
Well maybe some you have actually read my confession I was originally going to turn this blog into a Super Sentai purist blog and a Power Rangers bashing blog and I used to hate Power Rangers when I discovered about Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger.  However in reality, I realized no matter how much I like Super Sentai (but recently I may not continue watching it due to the fact Gobusters and Kyoryuger doesn't click with me but I respect its fans), however I still have a soft spot for Power Rangers.  I grew up with Power Rangers though I also watched Super Sentai.  Sideline, I don't like Super Sentai dubs, my ears hurt watching them.  Now back to reality and me doing a similar post to UkiyaSeed , another great dude and in honor of Mr. Smith's PR Sentai Universe blog which I hope will get updated soon. Also this is to ALL those Super Sentai fans who keep calling Power Rangers a rip-off, fake and parasite.  I can tolerate it being called a remake but a remake STAYS in its ...

The Ki to Inner Power in Super Sentai

Image
Okay I haven't written in awhile due to other passions that tend to make me drift away but I'll write whenever I can.  Now for my "ki to inner power" in Super Sentai which I was "inspired to write" by these lines from Chris X's "Super Sentai vs. Super Sentai: Another Time, Another Takeru"... "Momoko, something is bugging me." Takeru, while on the way walking with Momoko, suddenly spoke, "That hand stance… what was that? Why does it make people feel a little better?"  "It's my meditation gesture." Momoko explained, "It symbolizes self-healing. I suppose it is better than nothing for the moment with them. We used that as a power to fight… known as Aura Power."  "You're teaching my team your Aura Power?" Takeru asked, confused.  "Inside a human body, a mysterious power is hidden. With training and discipline, an infinite power can be obtained." Momoko said, "That is...

My Hesitation in the Past to Accept Newer Super Sentai

Image
There was a time I was hesitant to accept newer Sentai I was around 19 or 20 years old by then. So here's me with a confession as a Super Sentai fan.  I had more respect for older Super Sentai and here's what I started to think... In my case I once had my hard time accepting multi-gattai and having more than seven mecha but when I started to view it, I said, "Hey it's not half-bad."  But still, this wasn't the phase where I was ready to accept it.  In fact I was in denial that I freaking loved the new idea.  Gaoranger managed to work it well.  Boukenger not really but I still freaking like Boukenger despite its rather lame finale. Abaranger and Hurricanger were two shows I once was hesitant to accept.  However the stupid reason of me beginning to see Abaranger as a Zyuranger copy or Hurricanger as a blatant Liveman/Kakuranger copy. After seeing a few episodes of Abaranger, I want to see more. Some of the few things I complained about Super Sentai w...
